Chapter 54 – Don't go breaking my heart.

~Amelia's POV~

I looked upon a scene I quite expected, to be honest. Silas had poured out his heart to Amara and she had broken down and confessed how horrible it was to live as an anchor.

When the realization of what being an anchor really hit me, I wanted to call back and tell them to cancel the transition of anchorage to Bonnie.

"She's dead." Silas spoke, his voice breaking at the last syllable. He knew I was observing the scene. I walked closer to him and put a hand on his shoulder to console him. The second thought that hit me was to wonder what happened to the transition.

"Kill me." Silas begged. I frowned, not wanting to do it.

"You have to." He urged.

"If you won't, I will." Damon joined us, taking the knife out of Amara with every intention to kill Silas.

"What are you doing here?" I asked dryly.

"Living up to my reputation of intruding in conversations that don't involve me." He shrugged carelessly. "Also, I came to inform you that Bonnie is back. We almost didn't have her but she came through."

"That's good, I guess." I nodded at him, turning my attention back to Silas.

"Are you sure about this, Silas?" I asked softly.

"I just want to be with Amara."

"Very well then." I closed my eyes and snapped his neck, effectively killing him.

"That looked like it was difficult for you."

"What gave it away, Damon?" I swallowed the emotions and raised the two bodies in the air. Quickly making two graves, I placed them side by side. Before I could put the dirt back on them, Damon spoke.

"I think you would want to completely destroy their trace. Silas still has the cure running through his veins. People will come looking for it."

"Let them." I spelled the area against all the travelers after placing the dirt back down.

"You want the cure to stick around. Why?"

"Might be useful against the next big bad." I suggested.

"Like you and your brother?"

I slammed him against the tree with my magic and walked closer with a scowl on my face.

"I was joking." Damon choked out.

"Wasn't funny."

"Sorry." He wheezed out when I cut off his air supply.

"Your sorry asses are indebted to me. Remember that when you want to come after me or my family, extended included." I warned him before letting go of him.

"You're different." Damon noted as we walked back to the boarding house.

"Don't use these few moments for bonding time. I'm not fucking interested."

"Definitely different."

I ignored him and we walked in silence. Well, he tried to make conversation and I continued ignoring him.

"You're more like your brother now." He said just before we were about to enter and that managed to get a reaction out of me.

"I sure hope so."

"Tell me Bonnie died again with all the crap it takes to be the anchor." I announced my presence.

"Unfortunately for you, she's just fine." Bonnie glared at me from her seat at the couch with Jeremy.
