Chapter 24

Second Chunin exams

Hinata was 15 now. Others too. Not only that, but Naruto was about to return in a moment. It’s been less than three years now. Shikamaru and Temari took care of the Chunin exams. Because of that, someone thought they were dating.

"They hold Chunin exams without Naruto-nii-chan?!"

"It’s not fair, Konohamaru-chan. Right, Udon?"

"I-I think it is not…" He snorted.

"We have to come up with something!" Konohamaru with others changed into Naruto. But it was quite noticeable, he was still wearing the same orange attire.

"Naruto? Is it really you?" asked Shikamaru.

"It’s really me, dattebayo, kore!"

"Something is wrong with you."

"What are you saying, Shikamaru-nii-chan?"

"Nii-chan? Hah, that's what this is about. Konohamaru, stop it."

"How did you found out?"

"You were quite conspicuous. Anyway, what were you trying to do?"

"It’s just not fair, you should wait for Naruto-nii-chan!"

"And you think we'll postpone the whole Chunin exams just because of Naruto?"

"And why not? Naruto-nii-chan has done so much for our village!"

"Listen, Konohamaru, it’s not just about us. There are other villages too. It could disrupt peace." Konohamaru left indignantly.

"Uhh, what a drag…"

"S-Shikamaru-kun," said Hinata.

"Oh, Hinata, what are you doing here?"

"W-well, I wanted to ask if I could be in your team. You're already chunin, so if I could be with the girls."

"Actually it’s awesome, Hinata, they really want to compete the exams, but they lack a third member."

"D-does that mean I can?"

"Of course, Sakura and Ino will be excited."

"I’m glad."

"Hinata!!" yelled both girls.

"Please, be in our team!!" They bowed their heads in front of her.

"Y-you don't have to do that. I will be glad to be in your team." Their eyes shined.

"You are awesome, Hinata!" They were happy.
