On its usual path, the Hogwarts Express lulled through the countryside, on their usual tracks, the train wheels screeched and rolled against the oiled metal and in the their usual compartment, the quartet of friends sat on their way to the last term of fourth year.

On one cushioned bench sat Ron and Nell at either side, Nell's back pressed against the window behind her and Ron's against the compartment door with their legs on the seat so that they were facing each other. Harry and Hermione sat opposite them, watching in bemusement as the redhead and scarred girl attempted to throw Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans into each other's mouths, like they had been doing for the last half an hour.

"Okay okay I'm ready" Ron took a deep breath to collect himself, wiping a few stray tears from his red face.

After many hilarious failed attempts, the pair rounds themselves in hysterics, laughing uncontrollably more and more each time they missed.

Her chest still shaking slightly in amusement, Nell tried to put on a straight face and held the Bertie Botts bean between her thumb and forefinger, shutting one eye and aiming for Ron's open mouth. After moving her hand back and forth a couple times in practise, she threw the jellybean across the space between them, watching in anticipation as it flew closer and closer only to hit him square in the forehead.

This small action was all it took to make the pair burst back into hysteria, laughing uncontrollably as Harry and Hermione watched in confused amusement. Well Harry was watching Nell and Hermione was watching Harry, very closely in fact and more specifically the way he was so intently gazing at Nell, a small smile grazing his lips.

"Where were you aiming?!" The redhead wheezed, shaking his head and clutching his stomach as the girl threw her head back against the window laughing, unable to form a coherent sentence.

Without even waiting for to compose herself, Ron took his shot, aiming for her currently wide open mouth as she laughed.

"Ron my eye!" She yelped through the hysterical giggles as the small orange bean pelted the corner of her eye, making it well with involuntary tears blending in with those already streaming down her face.

"Your eye?! What about my forehead?!!" He retaliated, tears of amusement streaming down his own face.

"She didn't kiss him" Hermione said softly, so that only the raven haired boy beside her could hear, not that the other two were listening anyway. In fact they had now taken to seeing how many of the jellybeans they could fit in their mouths before they essentially choked to death.

"There is no way you can fit any more!" Nell gargled from a mouth stuffed with beans, her voice muffled but still vaguely understandable.

Beside her, Ron had stuffed almost an entire box's worth into his cheeks and was now tipping the rest of the contents in, his chest jumping up and down as he did so.

"Ron stop! I'm gonna choke" Nell tried to say, clutching her stomach and trying not to laugh, or more likely choke, from the sight of Ron tipping the box into his mouth.

"What?" Harry asked under his breath, trying to sound confused when in reality his heart had risen slightly in his chest at the thought of what she might be telling him.

"Cedric, she didn't kiss him" Hermione confirmed quietly, keeping her eyes trained on the pair in front of them.

"Wh- Hermione I don't-" Harry stuttered, his face flushing slightly red as he tried to hide his elation and embarrassment.

"You don't have to say anything, I just thought you'd like to know" she hummed, her lips tugging up slightly as Ron tried to grin at her with a mouth full of jellybeans.
