"bye bug!" you ruffled the blond boys hair as he smiled up at you, giggling at the nickname you had given him years ago. he said goodbye as he hoped out of the car, his tiny converse you got him landing on the ground, and he shut the door.

you drove your first grade brother to school everyday, you didn't need to be asked. you had offered.

you adored the kid. and since you were now out of high school, taking a gap year to find yourself or whatever the magazines we're saying these days, you had all the time in the world. spending more of it with your brother was your first choice.

a car pulled up next to you in line, baby shark blasting from the radio. you smiled and looked over, your window already down to show a boy around your age and a little girl you had seen roaming around the school before. she was in your brothers class.

"bye bean!" the boy had said, but the girl had rolled her eyes and groaned. sassy.

the boy who had driven her had to be close to your age. his hair was slightly longer and he had black shades on, he smiled obnoxiously and waved goodbye.

"you're so weird, stop calling me that!" she huffed and slammed the door. he then noticed you were looking over at him, and sent you a yikes face.

"you gotta be cooler about it, dude." you said, acting like you knew it all. he just laughed and shook his head.

"i try, but nothing i do seems cool to her."

you raised a fake glass, "to being cool siblings, but only feeling like embarrassing parents."

he raised one too, "heard that one."

you laughed together, and he drove off. you put your pink shades back on and turned on the radio, driving off as well.

"bye bug." you repeated the same words you did every morning as your brother hoped out of the car, "i love you."

"love ya!" he chirped as he shut the door.

dora the explorer could be heard next to your car, and you smirked before even turning around.

there he was. same boy, same little girl. same sassy eye roll.

"baby shark, now dora," both heads turned towards you, "what's next? little einstein's?" you giggled, and so did he.

"anything other than charlie's music is music i can handle." the girl groaned, opening the door and grabbing her bag. it was your turn to make a yikes face, and the boy just shrugged.

"sassy for a first grader!" you sent a sarcastic smile her way, acting offended.

he nodded, "yep, cant help but think i caused that."

"probably." both you and the sister said in sync. you both laughed.

"what's yours?" he looked up at you.

"hmm?" you cocked your head.

"your name. you know mine now... what's yours?"

"yeah, he needs to stop referring to you as pretty-drop-off girl." the little sister earned a wack on the shoulder for her words, and she smirked over to her brother, shrugging.

you just giggled, trying not to blush, and told them your name.

she hopped out of the car, walking around yours to get to the school, and you waved goodbye to the brother... charlie.

he just shook his head, blushing himself, and waved back.

before you could even say goodbye to your brother the next day, little einstein's seemed to shake your brain as charlie's car pulled up next to yours.

you jumped and looked next to you, finding both the siblings laughing. you just shook your head.

"bye kiddo." was all you said as your brother jumped out of the car, and you turned to greet your friend.

"what's next?" charlie said, referring to the fact that you had basically requested this song.

you laughed as a response.

his sister quickly leaned over, whispering something in his ear. he smiled to her words, nodding and winking at her as she got out of the car.

he looked up at you, eyebrows raised, "wanna get some coffee?"

your smirked, nodding immediately.
