-Hayley's POV-
Walking into class, I sat in my usual seat. I started to read through the project.
Plan the perfect family.
"They really are going full on with this one" I whispered to myself.
"Talking to yourself? Cute" Cody laughed, sitting next to me.
"It's a usual occurrence." I smiled.
"Well, shows how lonely you are."
"Okay, true, but too far." I laughed.
"But your laughing so I get away with it."
"Jerk.
I went on with the work. Cody was, again, sleeping, so I was basically doing this alone. As I read through the assignment, I realised that I did actually need his help.
Particular questions were assigned to the both of us, so technically speaking I needed his input.
"You know, if you need my help, you just have to ask"
"I don't like being a hassle" I admitted.

I walked outside towards where I usually sit.
"Hold up!" Cody called.
I looked up at him.
"You busy after school?"
"I'm not sure, why?"
"Text me"
He smiled and gave me his number.
I nodded and we went out separate ways.
"You two seem to be getting pretty close" Liyah wiggled her eyebrows.
I rolled my eyes and looked over to where Cody was.
I wondered if he was the same outside of class and the temptation was there to find out.
But I held back.
"How's things with Josh going?" I asked.
"Don't get me started, he doesn't do anything. He just sits there and when I ask for help he pretends not to hear me" Liyah ranted.
"Sounds like a nightmare."
"A walking, talking and breathing one."
My eyes stayed on Cody the whole time.
It was weird.
It's not like I hadn't noticed him before this weeks, but it only seemed to mean something now.
"Crushing are we?" Liyah asked.
I shook my head no.
"Could never, not on him"
"Why not?"
"I don't know. Dating him would be like holding up this crazy social title that I just don't wanna be responsible for."
"This isn't royalty or fame, it's high school."
"Doesn't feel like it. The way girls look at him, he may as well be a celebrity. I don't think I could even come close to other girls here anyways."
"Whatever. One things for sure, he's into you"
"Barely."
