The carnival week sped by like a swoosh of the wind. Now we're back at school like nothing happened. Students returned with grim looks on their faces. This year's carnival might be one of the  most memorable celebrations I've ever experienced. The joy and happiness were out of bounds. It was magical. However, good things come to an end at some point and we need to accept that.

Anya says she won't be coming today because she has to go to the hospital. I haven't seen Emma around either. She'll come later I guess.

The guys aren't in school. Strange. They weren't in school even before the carnival. I wonder what could have happened. I just hope they're okay.

At a distance, I spotted a blond pulling his books out of his locker and putting them in a crate box. He looks familiar..

I gasped as my heart raced. "Is that Takemichi-kun?"

A huge smile made its way to my lips as I ran towards him, waving at him, "Hey Takemichi-kun!"

I successfully gain his attention when he turns to me. I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug. However, he doesn't return my embrace. Probably because I caught him off guard.

I pull away, "I missed you Takemichi-kun." I say truthfully. I really did.

He gave me a small smile saying nothing and resumed packing. My smile disappeared, confused about his awkward behaviour.

He's grown so pale that he's almost unrecognizable. His eyes are red and his lips are dry. He looks like he hasn't slept in weeks. Looking at him, I get reminded of Mikey. How dull he looked in the janitor's closet. What's going on? I don't understand.

I place my hand on his shoulder, "Takemichi.."

He stops and lets out a sigh.

"Are you okay?" I ask, my voice breaking. This is so concerning.

He doesn't respond.

"Why haven't you been coming to school? Did something happen?" I press. "Answer me."

Something in my gut tells me he's avoiding me. If he is then why? Did I do something?

"Is it.. because of me?" I can't take this anymore.

"No it's not." He says.

"Then why are you acting like this?" I frown.

"I'm sorry," He sighs, "Forgive me. I've been so stressed out lately."

"What happened? Are you okay?" I ask in worry.

"I'm okay." He breathes out. He's lying.

I argue, "No, you're not."

"Why are you so concerned about me?" He questions me rudely.

I gulped. He's looking at me dead in the eye.

My cheeks flushed, "Because you're my friend."

He studied me silently for a brief moment before replying, "Hmm.. okay."

He turned to shut his locker.

"I didn't see you at the carnival.." I tell him.

He gives me an indifferent look. This is so unlike him. "I didn't attend." He stated blankly.

"Why?"

"I wasn't in the mood. I was busy." He spoke, feeling slightly irritated.

Not wanting to go further, I nod, "Okay."
