So, back in the Fall of 2023, I reread the Gospels all the way through, and had six incredible things revealed to me as I read the story of Jesus again!
1. The TRUE meanings of Jesus' death!
-Jesus died for our sins (of course), but he also died so that we could have a deep relationship with our heavenly Father!
-He also did it so that the Holy Spirit to come to us, and that we could have connection with Him!
(Matthew 27:43-56, Mark 15:33-35, Mark and John)
2. How to Pray and How to Bless those who persecute you
-Forgive others even when they may hurt you because God forgave you
(Matthew 5:43-48 and Luke 6:27-36)
3. How to be Humble in all circumstances
-be humble by serving with expectation
-be merciful
-live in humility
(Luke 14:7-14)
4. Understanding the Gentile Mother story
-this story never made ANY sense to me, until I reread it
-by rereading this story, I was able to become more aware of the way that Jesus tests our hearts
(Matthew 15:21-28 and Mark 7:24-37)
5. God's Will, Not Mine
-while Jesus was in the garden, He asked God to remove his cup- Him having to die on the cross0 away from Him
-HOWEVER, He told God that it was not His will, But God's will instead!
(John 17:1-5)
6. How to Serve God and Others
-put God first above everything else
-serve and love others second
-and yourself third (now what this means is not living to satisfy just yourself, but living so that others are satisfied before you, living a life of generosity with self-gain INSTANTLY. Does not mean to not love yourself, God wants you to love you too)
-Serve the way that Jesus did, out of love and compassion
(Mark 10:45)
