What does Patience look like?

Dictionary Definition: the quality of being patient; an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance; quiet, steady, perveance, even tempered, diligence. 

Biblical Definition: forbearance or endurance; a quality of self-restraint or of not giving way to anger; related to both compassion and mercy. 

My Definition: to be forgiving and open-minded, to be willing to understand others and their needs, putting others before oneself, and giving grace to those in need. 


Verses on Patience: 

-Ephesians 7:8 says, "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than a proud spirit." 

-Psalms 37:7 says, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over a man who carries out evil devices!" 

-Isaiah 40:31 says, "but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength." 

-Proverbs 15:18 says, "A hot tempered man stirs up strife, but he is who slow to anger quiets contention."
