back at worthington's mansion

Phoenix and I were in his room, on the floor. He was leaning against his bed frame and held me in his lap, as he played with my hair. We were reminiscing times when we were younger, sharing so much with each other - embarrassing stories to notorious stories of our childhood.

I couldn't help but stare at him in awe as he spoke. We were much rather alike than not, it surprised me. He spent most of his childhood growing up in isolation brought on by himself. He liked to be alone, away from others, and doing his own thing. He continued talking, smiling as he spoke - a clear sign he held his childhood dear to his heart. He was often found in the piano room or library; in between his parents, or with Elliot; or in the backyard playing soccer. He liked the quiet, he liked rainy days and he loved to teach himself everything there is to know. He made it clear he loved his siblings, even more than himself and he'd do absolutely anything for them, but he also just loved to be alone.

It was quiet now, all the was audible was our breathing and the soft hun of the Edvard Grieg vinyl playing in my room.

"Adrianna," he called my name softly. I lifted my head to meet his eyes and before I could speak, his lips met mine. The kiss was ardent, sending my mind into a frenzy; my hands went around his neck, pulling him terribly close against me.

And then my phone went off.

"Ignore it," Phoenix growled against my lips.

"I can't," I shook my head, giving him one last lingering kiss before pulling away.

"What," I demanded through gritted teeth.

"Hello to you too, love, sorry to interrupt a fucking session for you and your boyfriend," Kendall answered sarcastically and I didn't miss the innuendo of her words.

"K-Kendall, hi," I mutter shyly.

"Tell Phoenix I'm far more important than him and make sure it's in through his head," she fired at me.

I looked at Phoenix who already had his eyes narrowed, staring at my phone, "Tell Kendall she has no chance against me, she can't please you as I do," he retorted loud enough for her to hear.

"Hunter cannot be competed with," I stated in nonchalance, putting an end to their fight.

Phoenix was openly gawking at me and Kendall shrieked over the phone, "Hunter?!"

"Yes, I think that's the name I just said," I answered with certainty. She huffed and I couldn't help the small giggle escaping my mouth.

"Unbelievable," she muttered in disbelief, "Adrianna, I am sorry if I did interrupt something, but-"

"No you didn't, Kendall, don't apologise," I rushed out.

"Okay, we were supposed to set up a meeting with Orion Reed. And apparently we never got to it? But he called your office just about an hour ago. I took the call and informed him I'd send meeting details by seven pm. I'm looking through your schedule and I'm not seeing any open times until three weeks from now, do you want it then or?"
