Chapter Forty Six.

I stared down at my wrist, locked to the bed.

"What a dick!" I hiss, tugging my wrist roughly as if the handcuffs were going to magically pop open and free me.

I grunted, falling back onto the bed. I glance around me, there was barely any furniture in this tiny room.

I narrowed my eyes, leaning closer to the cuffs and study the lock. Could I pick lock it?

I don't have anything small enough to fit in the hole. It wasn't like I had my hair pinned up with Bobby pins: I rarely had my hair up since I came to this place.

Biting my lip, I glance around again: just myself on this bed, with a couple machinery that hasn't been taken away. Pursing my lips, I couldn't help but think if I could find something that could cut this metal, then I can be on my way.

On my way to kick Eric's ass, of course.

Casually climbing out of bed, I study the feet of the bed and then I look towards my feet. Bare. Well that would have to do.

Gripping the metal bars, I push the bed away from the wall and push it towards the door. I paused before knocking the door open, and then I was walking down the hall way, in thin clothing and no shoes.

I shoot the dormitory door a glare as I passed it. I could hear Four talking, talking without a care and oblivious that I'm now walking attached to a bed. Turning down another hallway, I stop at a double door.

Turning the knob, it went halfway, and got stuck. I shook the door: locked.

Typical.

I'm sure this is the door that they kept all of the weapons in. When Nita wanted to get some serum to kill all of the Allegiant.

But what about the death serum? Wouldn't that kill me?

We are still, well, they are still weak with Nita's attack, and I'm sure I've heard someone say something that they had to disarm it as the electricity went down a little while... Have they activated it again?

Glancing up and down the hallway, no one was here, so I rammed the bed into the door, creating a large bang which echoed in effect. I tensed, looking up and down the hallway. Nothing or no one was investigating. I carried on.

The door opened. I paused in the hallway, and I leaned closer to peek inside. Nothing was giving off any gas. No alarms or and smells.

I stepped inside and instantly spotted a pile of handcuffs. A matching pair of my own. Shuffling around the pile of handcuffs, I came across a set of keys. And voila! Handcuffs are gone.

"Should we go check on Cassie, you know, before we leave?" The familiar sound of Christina asked. Gosh, I haven't seen her in forever.

"No."

Ah, how do I love Eric?

Wait, what?

"She will be asleep. And I don't want her awake." Eric continued. Ass.

I notice that he was coming this way, so I dashed to the door and shut it. I see their shadows pass. Their foot steps fading.

I wait five seconds, then peer out. They were gone, but I know where they were going, I'm sure. Then I glanced down in my outfit. Yeah, I'm not going anywhere wearing this.

I pace quickly, towards the dormitory. Slamming the door open, I ran over to my bed, throwing on a T-shirt which was way too big for me, it may as well have been Eric's (and it probably was) and some trousers which had fit around my waist but was too short, they had finished at my ankles.

Slipping on my trainers while walking, I ran out the door and towards the entrance of the airport.

People stared as I dashed by, debris and broken furniture were in my way, which I jumped over. I pushed people out of the way, who yelped and cursed.

"Sorry!" I called over my shoulder, and ran faster when I was nearing the entrance, and I heard a vehicle engine roar to life.

By the time I reached the doors, the car was already driving off.

I growled, mostly to Eric, the rest to myself.

"Miss, you alright?" Someone asked me.

I shot him a glare. "No, I need a car." Then I spot a smaller car, the size of a Mini Cooper. "I want that car. Where are the keys?" I point to the car.

"You can't have that car, it's already in use."

"Try me." I push past him, plucking the keys from his belt. Well, what I assume was the keys from his belt.

"I like to see you try without the k- hey!"

I grinned, and ran. Unlocking the car as I came close and threw myself inside. I locked myself in and the guard banged on the window.

"Miss, get out of the car!" He pulled at the handles. Yeah, like that was going to do anything.

"Sorry, a woman is on a mission!" I replied, turning the car on and drove off. He yelps and I glance at the mirror, he was clutching his foot. Whoops.

***

I sped along the empty road. I pressed the pedal harder when I see the car in eyesight.

I was angry, hell, I was fuming. How could he expect me to stay handcuffed to the bed when all of them dive in danger headfirst?

We could be wiped of our memories, everything that we've done, everything that we've learned... All of that would have been for nothing.

I would be sent back to the place where I escaped.

Obviously they know that I'm a missing person, and I'm sure they are planning to wipe us of all of our memories, and myself, and I'd be shipped of back to my dad, and wondering why I've suddenly gotten pregnant.

What a day would that be.

We arrived at the Amity Gates, and the car in front slowed to a stop, and I copied. The driver door opened, and stepped out Four. He glanced at my car and frowned. When Eric stepped out, Four said something to which Eric looked towards my car.

Time to piss off Eric.

I opened my door, and headed straight for them. With each step, Eric's face turned redder and redder with anger.

And it was more hilarious as I got closer.

"So," I clapped my hands, grinning. "What's the plan?"
