My gratitude for school. Many of you
Will rebut this, for your attitude is
Aggravation enforced by apathy.
I share to you all of my sympathy,
For my feelings once were identical,
But realization that is radical
Arrived as I would not have learned about
Legend poets of the historical,
The venerable ones preceding me.
Talented writers like William Shakespeare
Stressed in academia whose sonnets
Must be read thorough to demystify.
Though I barely learned all, it cements my
Place in here as a contemporary.
