Roots

First we met,
Barely did we talk,
Our minds weren't set,
But together we now walk.

We didn't plan
For this to happen,
Relevant that is not,
What matters we stand
Together, holding hands.

Who you least expect,
Now the one you respect,
Fantasies you had for The One,
For which I shared with you.

Our pasts being rough,
Torn us to shreds,
Where we bled,
And shed tears,
Consisting of our fears
To try again.

You loved people,
They saw you as feeble,
A disgusting creature,
So they tortured
You, so much you've endured.

I was admired,
Had my heart's desire,
Still I took it for granted,
Was thrown out for that,
And yet, I ranted,
Played victim so to speak.

You needed to take
While I was given,
Once we were the reverse,
Then turned the same,
Who did we blame?

Everyone!
They played their part,
How we reacted was all us,
Long it took to realize,
And short to realize our bond's roots.

You can say roots were our first talk,
Actually was the seed,
Didn't blossom, for it needed
Soil, which I call the fun talks,
And then came an intervention,
Our first deep conversation
Being the fertilizers
For the roots to finally sprout,
Lastly the flowers
Representing us as lovers.

Look at us,
Our pasts behind us,
The present on us,
And the future ahead us.
