Leaving

Imagine yourself in a relationship,
You think it is perfect,
But it is not,
Not one bit.

What makes you think it's perfect?
Is it because you love each other,
This love being so deep
That you're willing to do
Anything to make each other smile?

You are love struck,
You are too blind to see the truth,
And if you think what
I'm saying is nonsense,
Don't come crying to me for comfort
When you realize I am right.

All you're getting from
Your relationship is arousal,
This very sense of happiness
You get from each other's presence.

Why is it such a bad thing?
I expect you to ask that
Because you'll be in denial
Of the truth staring at your face.

You're addicted to her,
Addicted to her very presence,
And for every second you spend
Away from her, you feel nauseous,
You're sweaty, you want to throw up,
And you feel like collapsing.

You can't focus,
It shows when you're doing
Activities without her,
For your performance is atrocious.

You must clear your mind,
You must realize she won't benefit you,
That she is a threat to your future,
And the only way you can do this
Is when you are away from her.

Why must you stay away from her?
A question you've asked this whole time,
You must think I'm jealous,
But listen to me.

The girl is below you,
She is a nobody,
A big fat loser,
And if you marry her,
You will lose everything.

You may think you can change her,
But you're wasting your time,
You're going to lose your sanity,
And it is not your obligation to fix her.

You're a better person than her,
You are someone with potential,
An intelligent human being
Who is off to success,
So don't destroy your future.

Leave her now,
Leave her before it's too late,
There are other girls out there,
Better girls who will give
You lasting happiness.

You will suffer withdrawal,
