It really did feel like we had never left. I had missed the energy of their shows; the energy of the crowd and the way they all came alive on stage. They made my job that much easier. I tried my best to get around the entire stage, but I always found myself back on Jake's side, and every time he would flash me a smile, and my heart would pound just like it was the first time.

I hope this feeling never goes away.

The night was a blur, and before I knew it, they were taking their bows. I snapped as many photos as I could before the lights finally went down, and then hastily ran backstage before anyone noticed I was still down on the floor. Making my way down the hall, I sought out the boy's dressing rooms, hoping to find Jake before anyone else did.

I knocked on the first door, but didn't have to wait long before I was met with Jake's wide grin, spreading from ear to ear.
"Hey beautiful." He said softly. My cheeks burned as I reached up, pulling him into a kiss.
"You were amazing." I said, gently pushing his sweaty hair out of his face. He sighed, his smile growing.
"I missed you saying that." He reached out, now holding my face in his hands, staring back into my eyes.
"So.. you wanted to be alone with me.." I said, moving my hands down to his waist, gently pushing him back into his dressing room, shutting the door behind us. He giggled to himself as he pulled me in to another passionate kiss.
"I did.." He sighed, leaning his forehead against mine. "But.. n-not here. I.. I kinda.. have something I want to ask you."

My heart jumped.

I bit down on my lip, staring back at him wide-eyed.
"Y-you do?" I said, doing my best to contain my smile. His cheeks burned as he nodded, gently touching my cheek.
"Yeah, but.. not here." I nodded, holding my stare on him.
"Okay.. then where?" His smile grew as he backed away, taking my hand.
"You'll see." He laughed, intertwining our fingers.

I didn't want to get my hopes up but.. was he talking about what I think he's talking about?

"You want a drink? They really stock us up back here." He said, bringing me over to the fridge.
"Sure." I said, smirking back at him. "I see you've already started." He shrugged, flashing me a smile.
"It's the first night of tour, we have to celebrate, remember?" He said, handing me a cup. I couldn't help but smile, taking a sip.
"Oh yeah, cause last time went so well." I laughed, hopping up on the counter. He smirked back at me, shaking his head.
"We don't talk about that." He laughed. "I was nervous."
"You were so cute." I sighed, swinging my legs, taking another sip. "I couldn't take my eyes off you all night."
"I wish you would've told me that then."
"So do I." I said softly.

Then there was a knock at the door, but before we could answer, Josh, Danny and Sam barged their way in, all with drinks in hand.
"Thanks for knocking." Jake said sarcastically, turning to them, now leaning up against the counter. He reached up, gently placing his hand on my leg, pulling me closer to him. I felt my cheeks burn as I peeked over at him, running my fingers through his hair.
"Get a room." Danny laughed, plopping down on the couch.
"Yeah, uh, we tried to.." Jake laughed, rolling his eyes, gently running his hand up and down my leg. My heart started beating faster.

"So, it is the first night of the tour." Josh said, sitting down next to Danny. "What are we doing?"
"You're looking at it." Jake said simply, taking a sip of his drink. Josh sighed, rolling his eyes.
"Come on, you know we always celebrate the first night."
"Well, some of us have other plans." He said, peeking back up at me. My cheeks burned. "Actually, um.. Sam.. c-can I talk to you?"

My heart started beating faster as Sam picked his head up, looking over at Jake confused.
"Oh, um.. y-yeah. Sure." He said. Jake motioned Josh and Danny towards the door, and then looked up at me.
"I'll meet you out front, okay?" He said, flashing me a smile. I bit down on my lip, nodding.
"O-okay.." I said, hopping down from the counter, gently kissing him on the cheek.
"Take my jacket." He called out. "It's cold." I smirked back at him, grabbing his jacket off the couch before following Danny and Josh out of the dressing room, shutting the door behind us.

Sam's P.O.V

Jake held his stare on me as I made my way over, leaning up against the back of the couch, nervously staring back at him.
"W-what's going on?" I asked, tightly crossing my arms, feeling my heart start to beat faster. I could only imagine what he'd want to talk to me about.

"I.. um.. I hate asking this of you but.. I need your help." He said softly.
"My help?" I asked. "W-with what?"
"You and Jess are.. close. I know that. So.. will you help me.. propose to her?" He said softly, his cheeks burning bright red.

My heart sank.

"Oh.." I whispered. He bit down on his lip, nodding, looking down at his feet.
"I know." He sighed. "But.. I just.. I want this to be perfect.. for her. So, I'd.. I'd really appreciate it if you would help me. You would know what she would want, much better than I would, as much as I hate to admit it."

My heart started racing. I knew this is what Jess wanted. I knew this was all Jess wanted, but a small part of me couldn't help but feel..

Well, I didn't know what I was feeling. I cared about her, more than she would ever know. And I wanted her to be happy. But.. I wanted to be the one to make her happy. And now here I was.. being asked to help Jake propose to her. If he doesn't even know what she wants, then he shouldn't be proposing. But on the other hand, Jake was my brother and I love him, and of course I want him to be happy. And.. she makes him happy.

"Jake.." I finally said. "I.. I don't think you understand.. just how much she loves you. She doesn't need these.. grand gestures. She just wants you. Jess loves the little moments. Sure, the big moments are.. exciting, but.. it's the moments in-between that mean the most to her. You can do whatever you want, she'll love anything you do because.. well, it's you, but all she wants from you is to talk to her.. to just.. tell her how you really feel. She's in her head enough as it is about you, so just.. let her in."

He held his stare on me for a moment, and eventually nodded.
"Thank you." He said softly. I nodded, keeping my eyes down.
"I hope that helps."
"It does."
"So.. did you get a ring?" I asked.
"Mhm.." He said. I could hear the smile in his voice. I peeked back up at him.
"Can.. can I see it?" He smirked back at me, pushing himself away from the counter but then his face dropped.

"My jacket." He said, his eyes getting wide. "She.. she has my jacket."
