Sam's P.O.V

When I got off stage, I could see Sadie hanging around in the wings, looking through her camera. I felt a smile escape my lips until she picked her head up to face me, flashing me a big smile, waving me down. I gave her a gentle wave, going over.

"Hey! You were great!" She said cheerfully. I nodded, forcing a smile.
"Thanks, did you.. get any good shots?" I asked. She nodded, looking back through her camera again.
"I think so, yeah. But.. I'll be able to see better later." I nodded, placing my bass down on the rack. I could feel her eyes on me as I began to make my way backstage. Finally, I stopped, turning to face her.

"Are you.. gonna meet back up with them?" I asked, motioning backstage. I assumed she would just be with The Envy for the most part of the night, just considering that Jess never really hung around anywhere we weren't. Then again, she never really had a reason to.
"Oh, um.. well.. Charlotte said they like to be alone after their set. So.. she said she'd come and find me once they were ready to leave." She said softly, her cheeks burning. I sighed, holding my stare on her for a moment.

"Do you.. I don't know.. wanna.. come hang out with us until they're ready?" I asked reluctantly. Her smile grew into a wide grin as she hopped up, nodding back at me.
"Oh, yeah! That would be great!" She said, now following me through the wings. I quickly made my way to the first dressing room before I ran into anyone else.

"So.. here's one of our dressing rooms." I laughed. "Not very exciting."
"Oh, how cool!" She said, placing her camera bag down, looking around. I shrugged, my smile growing.
"It's okay, I guess." She sat down on the couch, staring up at me with her same enthusiastic smile spread across her lips.
"This is all so exciting." She said softly. I went over, sitting down next to her.

"It is." I agreed. "But sometimes.. I don't know.. you miss the consistency of home." She nodded, turning to face me.
"Well, all I know is the consistency of home." She giggled to herself. "So.. this is still exciting to me." I nodded, remembering what it was like our first time on tour. I still loved it, but.. I missed this sense of excitement that she still had. For her sake, I hope she never lost it.

And then my head perked up as I heard footsteps making their way down the hall, finally turning into the doorway of the dressing room. My heart dropped when I saw Jess standing there, hand in hand with Jake, her eyes quickly shooting over.

"Jess!" I heard from next to me, my cheeks burning red. Jess quickly looked over at Jake, and then back to me. I could feel my heart beating faster and faster, unsure of how to react, eventually forcing a subtle smile.
"H-hi.." Jess eventually said. "Sorry, um.. do I know you?"

My mind went completely blank as her eyes met mine again.
"Jess, this is.. um.. uh-"
"I'm Sadie!" She said ecstatically, holding her hand out. "I'm The Envy's new photographer!"

Sadie. That's right.

I instantly saw Jess' face drop, her jaw clenching. I knew that would piss her off, and I was really hoping Sadie would've kept her mouth shut about it. But.. there was no avoiding it.

"Oh." Jess said simply. "Nice to meet you."
"I'm a huge fan of yours." Sadie gushed. "Your work is.. beautiful. You're actually the reason I got into this, so I hope one day I can be as good as you. I don't know, maybe working with you could help me! I'd love to learn from you, if you have anything you could teach me, I'd love to know."

I then saw Jess nod, biting down on her lip to hold in her smile as she peeked over at me. I felt my face get hot, smirking back at her, shaking my head, rolling my eyes. I knew what she was thinking. Sadie was the kind of girl we had always talked about, if only she knew that I was just being nice.
