When Lucy entered their tent, Merlin was asleep behind a screen. She felt the tendency to join him.
"Lucy, dear, I heard you had a victory on sir Gwaine?"
Gaius might be old, but he was definitely not stupid. He had not left the tent due to Merlin his condition, but he had definitely heard what had happend in the arena.
"I had."
She fell down on one of the chairs in the room, and sighed deeply.
"My head feels like it can explode any minute. I am surprised... That I... I.."
"Come, come," Gaius said. "You need to rest. The fight has asked a lot of your powers, it can sweep back at you any moment."
Lucy swallowed. If it would be heavily, she would be back just where Merlin and she had started. And that would be horrible.
"I don't want to hear anything anymore now. You are going to take this sleeping potion, and I will prepare Merlin for his upcoming fight, just as we have discussed with Lancelot. There is nothing you need to fear. The tent will be secure."
Lucy smiled softly. Gaius was too sweet for them, and she knew she had to listen to his words. Never again the horrors of... Yeah, that.
She dropped herself on one of the beds in the back of the tent, next to Merlin, and after she had taken the potion, she was gone before she had even realised it.
The old man was glad that the girl was finally at rest. He was for both Merlin and Lucy worried that it would start all over again, after they had come this far. Now it was up to him to wake Merlin up. The boy had still trouble with everything from the outside: Senses, sounds, certain colors... Not to forget the trauma from evolving.
"Hm?"
Merlin's sleep had not been that great. His sleep had been full of nightmares of the evolving, and he didn't feel really reloaded. But it had stopped his 'episode.'
His head filled up with sounds from outside, and they started to sing in his head, making everything spin. But he knew he had to hang on. For Arthur. For Camelot.
"They can call for you any minute, Merlin," Gaius said. "We have to hurry."
Merlin nodded, and took his scepter and black coat. Amory? Yeah, no. In his nightmares, he had realised that wasn't going to work anymore. He would do this not as Merlin, but as Emrys. The Emrys they had seen in the Battle of Camelot.
