Their Secret

I walked into the apartment quietly well because it's late and past Jayden's bedtime and I didn't want to wake him. I didn't bother turning on the lights on. I felt like I was sneaking in so my parents wouldn't catch me. I shut the door slowly. I was startled when the lights turned on.

"Sneaking in there Harry"

"No I just didn't want to wake Jay"

"Uh huh. He's still awake. He didn't want to fall asleep with saying goodnight to you."

"Well I go see him now"

"You go do that"

She walked into the kitchen and I walked into Jayden's room.

"Hey bud shouldn't you be asleep by now"

"Yeah but I wanted to say goodnight to you but you weren't here"

"Sorry Jay I was with a friend. She needed some help but I'm here now."

He smiled at me

"So what are you waiting for"

I grabbed the guitar he had ready by his bed. The only person that knows of my secret talent. It's our little secret as he calls it.

"But what if your mommy hears me. It won't be our little secret anymore."

"It's okay mommy promised she wouldn't be nosey."

I started singing the song I sing to him every night before bed.
