Trouble For Me

Drama Town

I finally made it to work. I was so tired but I had already agreed to work for both shifts. It was quite a slow day. The first 2 hours only two customers had walked in so I was sitting behind the counter and wrote down what it we needed for the store. I heard the door opening and I turned my head to the door and saw Roger walking in. I froze in my seat. I quickly looked away.

"Good morning.." he said and I tried not to look at him

"Good for you" I kept writing in the notebook.

"I came here to apologize" he said

"Okay?" I said

"I'm sorry for what I did last night, I was drunk..I didn't know what I was doing" he said

"Okay" I said

"Is that a 'yes I forgive you' kind of okay?" He asked

"No. And stop using the 'i was drunk' excuse, you knew exactly what you were doing" I said

"Diane please..you know I would never do anything to hurt you" he said

"Well last night it didn't seem like it. So obviously.." I took a deep breath "..you did what YOU thought was right" I said "I'm gonna have to ask you to leave. My boss already fired Rachel and I don't want to be next"

He gave me a sad look and walked out of the store but I wasn't ready to forgive him. He could have done a lot more if Brian and Freddie never showed up and these thoughts make me even more angry. My boss interrupted my thoughts.

"Was that Roger Taylor? The drummer of Queen?" He asked

"Yes he is" I said

"Are you two friends or he just happened to come here?" He asked

"We're friends..why are you asking?" I said

"I have a niece, she's about your age and she loves Queen!" He said

"Okay..." I said

"She told me that they have a gig at a bar in town and she is going alone and I was wondering that since you know them, it would mean so much to me if you went with her and keep her away from falling in love with these rockstars!" He said

"Alright I'll do it..tell her I'll meet her outside of the bar. What's her name?" I said

"Her name is Kathy. Thank you for doing this Diane!" He said and walked back to his office

I continued working. 3 hours later I saw Rachel walking in like nothing happened.

"Hey Diane" she smiled at me

"What are you doing here?" I asked

"I'm here to work the second shift. So that means that you can leave now!" She said

"Wait here a minute" I said and walked to Mr. Waltham's office. I knocked on his door and walked in.

"Diane is everything okay?" He asked

"Didn't you tell me that you fired Rachel?" I asked

"Yes I did. Why? What's going on?" He said

"She just walked in and said that she's here to cover the second shift" I said

He got up and we walked back into the store and we saw Rachel stealing money from the cashier.

Without a second thought I grabbed her from her hair and pulled her away. She screamed

"Let me go you bitch!" She said

"Shut up! What do you think you're doing?" I yelled at her

She didn't say anything and she punched my stomach. I tried not to let the pain get through me but it did and that's when my boss grabbed her arm and pulled her away
