Trouble For Me

Chapter 38

The sound of my phone ringing woke me up from a deep sleep. I just let it ring and tried to go back to sleep. But the person who called kept insisting as my phone kept ringing for half an hour. I finally answered.

"Hello?" I said

"Why are you ignoring my calls?"

I know that voice damn well. It couldn't be anyone else but my mother. I'm away for only day and she still finds ways to get into my life

"Shall I repeat myself? Why didn't you pick up the first time I called?" She asked

"Because I told you to never call but I see you didn't get the message. Now fuck off"

I wanted to say but I'm too tired to even fight

"I was sleeping!" I said

"Weren't you supposed to be at college?" She asked

"Tomorrow..we start tomorrow!" I defended myself

"Okay! I get it, you don't have to yell!" She yelled

"Gosh, you're so annoying! Goodbye!" I yelled and I hung up

I sighed and the phone started ringing again. I took a deep breath and I answered it

"Hello?" I said

"Don't you dare hang up on me again!" I heard my mother yelling

I just ignored her and hung up again. This time I disconnected the phone and went back to bed.

I managed to get 1 extra hour of sleep before I heard the doorbell.

"Who can it be now?" I wondered as I was walking to the door

"Who is it?" I asked

"It's Mary!" She answered back.

I unlocked the door and finally let her in

"Is this a bad time?" She asked as she noticed the angry look on my face

"No.." I said as we walked to my living room

"Look.. I'm sorry for my behaviour last night. I'm just going through a lot. It's definitely not your fault and I shouldn't have let my bad mood get to you" she said and she looked down

"It's fine don't worry, if you think I'm mad at you, I'm really not. I just had an argument this morning. Sorry if I mislead you" I said

"Oh.. I understand. I just thought that you were mad at me for last night" she said

"Don't worry about it." I said and I went to the kitchen and walked back in the room with 2 mugs full with tea

Mary sat back on the couch and sighed

"Is there anything you want to talk about?" I asked

"Well.. not really..i don't know, I'm really confused" she said

"I understand if you want to keep it to yourself.." I said

"I think Freddie is seeing someone else behind my back" she said and I almost choked on my tea

"Excuse me, what?" I said while coughing

She gently started patting my back

"I think Freddie is seeing someone, but not a girl.." she said

"What are you saying Mary?" I asked

"I think Freddie is gay..and he's cheating on me with a man" she sighed and I saw a tear rolling down her cheek
