Death On Two Legs

Me and Brian visited my family in Greece and we shared the news of my pregnancy. Fortunately they didn't cause any trouble and they loved Brian! But our trip would take a bad turn.

I woke up this morning and Brian was still sleeping, I saw my aunt sitting in the living room, she seemed anxious.

"Good morning auntie" I walked in the living room "Is everything okay?" I sat next to her

"No..you need to take Brian and go.." she said

"What? Why?" I asked

"Your mother is coming here today or tomorrow..your dumbass cousin called her and told her everything!" She said

"Helena talks with my mother? I thought she hated her!!" I said

"No she doesn't, they're like best friends" she said

I started getting angry, I saw Helena walking downstairs "good morning mom, good morning Diane" she smiled and walked in the kitchen

I got up and walked in the kitchen
"How are you doing sweetie?" She asked

"Why did you tell my mother that me and Brian are here?" I asked

"Because she was sad..she feels bad for everything she has done to you..she wanted to see you.." she said

"Are you kidding me?? That's the woman who came to London, called me and my father, which by the way was your uncle too, useless!! How could you trust her enough to tell her that we're here?" I said

"She has every right to know where you are! You're her daughter!" She yelled

"She's not my mother! She is a woman with serious issues!" I yelled back at her

"You know what? That's just typical Diane! You always had everything in your life and you were always a brat! And when your mother tried to turn you into the right person you hated her!" She yelled

"You don't know what you're saying! You were never there! You never saw what i was going through! Do you know what it's like to grow up without a father? Do you know what it's like to wake up with bruises and cracked bones in the hospital every week because my mom had issues? I never bothered her! I always stayed out of her way! But she always found her way into my bedroom and made me suffer, EVERY FUCKING DAY!" I was crying and yelling

Helena pulled me into a hug "I'm so sorry I had no idea"

I kept crying, everything she said to me came from my mother, I can't believe that my own cousin believed that woman!

"Do you want me to call her and tell her that you left?" She asked

"Now it's too late! The damage is done." I said and my aunt walked in

"Were you girls fighting?" She said angrily

"Yes it's my fault mom I shouldn't have called her mother" Helena said and looked down

"It's okay, you didn't know, you just wanted the best for me..I get that" I said and I hugged her

I heard a knock on the door and I freaked out.

"Calm down it's probably your uncle" my aunt said

"Okay, I'll be right back" I said and I run to the guest room and I saw Brian. He was wide awake.

"Did you just wake up?" I asked

"No I woke up half an hour ago" he said "Were you yelling?" He asked

"Yes, I'm sorry if I woke you up.." I said and I sat on the bed

He pulled me into his arms "Talk to me.. What happened?" He said
