Arc 2 Chapter 28 (End of Arc 2): The CEO Is My Lover

After drinking a handful of alcohol he laid down in the familiar bed, he hugged the sheets that had long ago stopped smelling like her, still he would continue to hug them close and imagine her scent, imagine her still there with him.

"Hey, I ran your company like you wanted, it has remained #1 all these years, just like you wanted... Now, now I think I am done. Since you have not come back to me, I will come to you. If there is an afterlife, you better be there waiting for me..." Jun eyes filled with tears.

"If there is an afterlife, I won't be slow and take my time, Instead I will be faster and use the methods at my disposal to make you stay with me. I won't let you leave me again." Jun's eyes darkened, this time he was making more of a personal vow.

With one final breath he closed his eyes and whispered.

"I love you..."

It was only after twelve years, on the anniversary of Sage's death that Jun finally succumbed to death. He had died of alcohol poisoning.

He was found in Sage's old room seemingly sleeping, his tired and weary face finally looked at peace.

All those years without Sage he had always diligently looked after her company as it grew to staggering heights, staying the #1 company years after both their deaths.

Seeing the scene the employees could only weep. Their boss could have moved into an extravagant mansion, yet all those years he stayed in the small house that once belonged to his lost love.

All those years he could have been with anyone, he could have dated or married anyone, yet his cold heart could never accept anyone but Sage.

All that time their boss barely ate anything to the point where his employees had to hassle him to eat, all because he didn't want to eat without 'her.'

All that time he never truly took over the company as he continued to put his role in as secretary, not CEO. As he never wanted to replace his one and only boss, Sage.

He truly had been deeply in love on the verge of craziness, yet now, his body could be relaxed as he was finally able to die and again meet her.

Afterwards a grand funeral was held as his body was buried right next to the previous CEO.

His death was spread all over the news as many wept for the poor man.

12 years ago they had all witnessed his profound love for the dying woman.

At first after Sage's death, many who had not seen the live video had criticized Jun, saying he was probably acting as the perfect secretary in order to get Sage's company. It was only after watching the recorded video of that day that all their comments were immediately put to shame.

They would no longer dare to criticize such a man.

For it was after watching the video that they understood.

He who had tirelessly cried and clung to her body. No one could deny that the man was indeed truly in love with his boss as his eyes no longer shone any light.

Now that the man had died many were again reminded of his tragic story.

Even after twelve years he had not once gone out seeking another companion, he had been loyal to the bitter end.

To top it off he had hardly spent any of the enormous fortune he earned.

The only time he ever spent money was to buy a diamond casket to place Sage's body in, that way she would always be preserved and two, to buy fancy ingredients in order to cook extravagant dishes.

All this further showed Jun's broken love for his former boss and immediately put any other fake gossip to bed.

I enjoyed writing certain aspects of this arc but also feel like I could have done better in other areas... Still, what I lack in this arc, I think arc 3 makes up for... (evilly laughs) hope you continue to read on ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
