"Before you can become my knight you must train in the art of the sword." Sylvia started leading Jun around to the training courtyard.

She couldn't just declare Jun her knight without proper training, doing so would be disrespectful to the actual knights.

"I understand!" Jun happily smiled.

Sylvia turned to the guards in training who looked slightly anxious.

"From this day on, Jun will be training here, train him well... For he is to be my personal knight."

Upon hearing Princess Sylvia's orders everyone looked shocked.

Secretly they felt bad for the young boy who was going to be by the demon princess's side in the future.

However they were more stunned by Princess Sylvia's decision, she had always been distant and cold, commanding no knight to stand and guard by her side, yet now she finally chose someone... and they were a scrawny little kid!

'To be able to stay by the princess's side. Just what kind of a demon is this kid!?' They all secretly wondered.

While the guards pondered, Sylvia quietly led the boy back into the estate.

"As my personal protector... I have one more request from you."

For some reason, Jun deeply liked the title of 'personal protector,' so happily he shook his head in order to hear Sylvia's request.

"Become my cook."

After hearing Sylvia's words, Jun was slightly confused, wasn't he supposed to be her knight...

Seeing the boy's confusion, Sylvia continued.

"As my knight and number one protector, you are to protect me at all times, but how can you protect me if I were to get poisoned by eating someone else's food? The answer is simple, you can't. " Jun listened to Sylvia's words and his eyes slightly widened as he thought it over.

She was right, how could he fully protect her if she became poisoned?

Sylvia continued. "Therefore become my protector. Cook for me?"

Jun's eyes brightened. He would protect her. He would cook for her! Quickly he shook his head in agreement to Sylvia's request.

"Good." Sylvia had expected the young boy to buy her explanation, her eyes evilly twitched.

Truthfully she cared little about being poisoned, living and dying weren't of great importance to her, in reality she just wanted to eat good food...

Swiftly she turned into the kitchen.

"DEM-Princess Sy-Sylvia, what-what brings you into the kitchen?" The kitchen staff looked up in horror as they saw her enter.

"From today onwards I leave Jun in your care, teach him how to cook and be courteous. As from this day forward, he shall be in training to become my personal chef..."

Everyone stood there shocked from the princess's request.

They looked at the young boy with pity. They all felt sorry for the boy that had somehow been tricked into cooking for the princess...

After showing Jun around, Sylvia left as she started walking to their last designation.

After walking to the door of her room she turned and pointed to a door across the hall. "From now on, that is your room... As my personal Knight you must be close at all time's to protect me."

"Yes!" Jun smiled he was happy, now he could start his duty to protect his savior.

"If cooking lessons become too hard on top of your training... let me know." Although Sylvia wanted food, she had the patience to wait a little longer. She didn't want to overwhelm the boy.

Hearing Sylvia's concern for him, Jun's smile turned extra gentle. "I will be fine, as long as you let me stay by your side."

After seeing Jun's resolve Sylvia also unknowingly became slightly happy. Now her plans would work accordingly.

Although Sylvia had given Jun the position as her knight, rather than him protecting her, from the beginning she had planned for it to go the other way around.

If Jun was always by her side she could protect and watch over him. She could ensure he grow up to be healthy, strong and wise.

Furthermore, if she had just wanted food she could have just assigned him to be her cook, but that wasn't her end goal.

No, her end goal was bigger than that.

She needed him to know how to defend himself and later on she would begin to teach him magic.

Why?

Simple.

It was because she was already planning to make Jun the next king of Dandar.
