comforting you after a failed exam

a/n: yes this is how i'm gonna comfort myself after my exams, got a problem? 🙄 i also tried to include new characters in this one! <3

Pairings: gn!reader + Hu Tao, Ganyu, Bennett

Hu Tao

- you came back to your shared dorm, your shoulder slumped over and heading straight to the kitchen to brew some coffee.

- hu tao notices your obvious down mood and sits beside you. "something happen?"

- "i failed an exam." you frowned.

- she tries to hold a laugh but fails and starts bursting out in laughter

She notices that you didn't laugh along with her and she slowly comes to the realization that it really was a serious matter for you.

You turned over to her after pouring some hot water on your cup and smiled, saying. "Sorry, I'm not really in the mood."

Now she feels guilty and tries to rack up her brain to figure out a way how to cheer you up. She sits down on the table next to where you were brewing up your coffee.

"How bad was it?" She asked meekly as you just groan in response, not wanting to talk about it.

Well, that didn't make it any better.

She goes silent into thinking again, retracing back into her day to see if she had anything that could cheer you up and as if a bulb lit up above her, she stands up to go to her bag and grab something.

Your eyes only followed her with curiosity. She walks back to you with a cheery and upbeat pace, some papers in hand. She sits back down next to you, eyes sparkling and displaying to you what was in her hands with pride.

"There's a horror park nearby and they gave me coupons! Let's go check it out, when do you wanna go? If you wanna go right now, I'm totally ready!" She rambled on and on and on, all you could do was smile.

A fun break is what you needed after burning yourself out, maybe you should rest.

Ganyu

- She's busy with her own mountain of schoolwork and student council work but she won't fail to notice your absolutely depressing mood.

- She's not gonna ignore it of course, what kind of friend would that be?

- She brews a cup of tea for you and brings it to you in silence, asking what had happened.

- "Failed exam." Her eyes widen, realizing how bad it must have been for you to be moping around like this.

She hums, an idea in her mind. "How about we go over the topics that you messed up on?" She suggests, a smile on her lips to applaud herself.

"I already know what I made a mistake on but thanks, Ganyu." You say, taking a sip on the tea she had made and then standing up to walk to her table.

Ganyu did feel bad for having suggested that idea, she felt like an insensitive friend having invaded a sensitive spot.

"I can help you on your schoolwork though, might as well distract myself." You suggested and Ganyu was quick to shake her head in denial, walking over to you to take the papers you were grabbing and putting it down on her table.

"I can handle this myself, Y/N. Go watch some TV instead." She states. She would've felt even worst knowing that you had just failed an exam and then burning yourself out with her work. That wouldn't sit right with her.

"Ganyu, it's okay. Let me help you, okay?"

"But Y/N-" You cut her off with a simple stare as she falters and lets you work along with her. So now you were spending your time, sitting across the blue haired girl, working along her work whilst asking her on how to do it.

Unbeknownst to Ganyu, maybe she was the one who needed to rest.

Bennett

- you would be arriving back in your shared dorm with bennett, all slumped over and wanting to put yourself in your room for what's left of the day

- bennett would notice you, ready to invite you to play a new game with him

- one look at you and he already picks up the fact that you failed some tests, considering today was the exams. 

- he, too, failed some tests. why else would he be playing a game than to cheer himself up?

"Well hello there!" He greets you with a cheery voice, as you groan from your bed and turned to look at him. Humming in return as a reply.


"Do you wanna talk about it?" His tone softens as he slowly walks to your side, you shook your head in response and he nods along. "Well, that's okay." 


He abruptly pulls your body up, making you squeal in surprise. "Bennett!" 


He laughs as he drags you around the house and towards the living room where the videogame was ready, along with some snacks and a few blankets for you to be comfortable. You just stood there for a moment, staring at what he had prepared.


"Don't just stand there! Come on, let's play. I'm so ready to beat your ass!" He exclaims, squatting on his spot on the carpet. Expectantly looking up at you and patting on your spot. You let out a small breath, as if chuckling and give in to his request.


"Loser has to buy takeout!"
