You've noticed how he was slowly starting to lose interest. As painful as it was to admit.

You've noticed how he doesn't look excited to see you anymore. You've noticed how bored he acts when you're talking about something. You've noticed how short his answers have become once you question him something.

It was painful to come to that realization.

It's just.. did you do something wrong? Has he become bored of you now? Perhaps nothing you do excites him anymore. You don't know what it is but maybe not knowing it is better. Maybe it'll hurt less that way. Maybe, you hoped.

You knocked on his door before entering and there he was, seated on his chair as the light spilled from the windows behind him. He looked heavenly. He looked so beautiful.

"Hello," You greeted him with a smile.

"Hello." He responded, not bothering to look at you as he was focused on his paperwork.

You approached slowly to his table, glancing on the papers he was working on. One of the papers had the date for today and a light chuckle left your lips. Today was your anniversary. Would he notice though?

"Do you have time?" You meekly questioned, careful to not disturb him.

He stared up at you simply, almost sarcastically. It was obvious he was busy. You were right in front of him, you even glanced at his paperwork.

He shook his head. "No, Y/N. Do you need something?"

"Can we.. can we go have a picnic together? It's nice out and you haven't eaten lunch yet." You hesitantly bring up the topic. You wanted to talk to him about something but you didn't wanna tell him yet.

He sighed heavily, placing the papers on the table causing it to make a small noise. "I'm busy."

You knew that but you didn't wanna let this drag out any longer.

"Please? Just today." It's probably gonna be your last request anyway. You might never bother him again after this.

"Y/N," He warned, his brows furrowing in annoyance but you still didn't wanna back down.

"Just.. today. I promise." You gave him a small smile. That was a promise you'd swore yourself to keep. You were ending this today.

He sighed heavily once more before massaging his head, clearly irritated. You're saddened by how obvious he wants to let you know that he doesn't want to be bothered anymore. You're saddened by how obvious he doesn't want you around anymore.

"Fine," He says, convinced.

You excitedly clapped to yourself. "Okay, meet me at the Statue of the Seven. Under the tree." You said before leaving the room and as you closed the door, the smile you had put on had faded.

The guards have easily noticed you, of course. They glanced at you with worry and concern and you gave them a small smile to assure them that you were okay.

You had your blanket set out and ready under the shade of the tree, the nice noon breeze greeting you. This would be your last picnic date with him so you brought his favourite food and a cake. The cake had five candles on them, one candle for each year.
