Complicated

Chapter 3

Maggie's POV:
After school I take my little sister to the park. I sit on a bench and start looking at my phone while Melody is eating ice cream. After a while I notice that she isn't sitting beside anymore.

Suddenly  I hear a scream. "Melody!" I shout. I start looking around the playground desperately, trying to find my little sister. I look behind a big tube which is buried under a little hill. There she was, stroking a tiny puppy. "Oh thank god" I sigh relieved. "Melly you have to tell me when your are going somewhere! You can't just run off! I was worried!". "I'm sorry...the puppy was just sooo cute ! Are you mad at me now?" She answered looking down. "No I'm not but please never run away again".

She just nodded cuddling the little puppy. "Can we keep it pleaseee?" Melody asks. " Melly no we can't keep it. You know that Aron wouldn't like it. Come on we are going home it's getting late." I tell her.

As we arrive at home I see that Aron isn't here. I take Melody to bed and go into the kitchen to make dinner for him before  he gets home and sees that I didn't do anything. I hear the door open just as I was about to go to my room. A drunk Aron comes stumbling trough the door.

My heart skips a beat, so I try to sneak into my room quietly but he sees me. "Where do youu thwink you awre gowing?" He slurrs. I could smell the alcohol, even tough I'm standing 10 meters away from him. "What?! Dwid you clean the house likwe I told you?" He says starting to get angry.

He starts to come nearer,mumbling words I couldn't understand. I don't answer, I just try to get away from him but as soon as I wanted to turn around Aron grabs me from behind and presses my head against the wall harshly. I whimper in pain but he too strong for me to get away. I start to kick against his feet,hoping he would let me go.  But he doesn't care.

I start to feel dizzy, a few tears running down my cheeks.  "When I ask you somewthing you answer me ! You understawnd you worthless, stupid little girl?" He yells punching me in my stomach. I scream falling to the floor covering my head but another punch didn't come.

When I looked up  he was gone, so I try to stand up but it hurts too much. I just sit there trying to stop sobbing. Why is he doing this ? What's wrong with me ? Is he right? Am I just worthless? After a few minutes I attempt to stand up again holding me at a shelf. Finally I manage to get into my room.  It's just half past nine, I notice as I look at the clock. I fall onto the bed too tired to change my clothes or take my make up off. I'm too exhausted.

Tomorrow's saturday anyway. I think about what happened before. It's not the first time he is doing this. What if he is going to hurt me even more sometime? Nobody could help me, my friends and my mother don't know about it. Should I tell someone?

No I can't. If. He found out that I told someone, he would probably beat me to death or maybe hurt Melody. I have to keep this a secret. With this thoughts I fall asleep.

Leah's POV:
Leah just spit it out I think to myself. The worst that can happen is that he says he doesn't like me, right? But what if it's going to be awkward and we stop talking? Ughh, why is this so complicated? I notice that I'm already staring at him for too long.

"Hellooo earth to Leah. Everything okey ?" he asks waving his hands in front of my face. " Shawn I -" start to say but got interrupted by a teacher coming through the door. Really?! "What are you two still doing here?" he questiones confused while raising an eyebrow. Oh... he's probably thinking the wrong thing.

"We were just practicing for the school festival but we wanted to go anyways." Shawn says, grabs my hand and we walk past the teacher. He's holding my hand! Oh my god, pull yourself together Leah! "So what did you want to tell me ?" Shawn asks pulling me out of my thoughts. " Oh, ähhm nevermind. I should go home now it's late." I say trying to sound happy.

"Okey then, I'll walk you home." " You really don't have to" I answer blushing. Thank god that it's already dark. "I'm not going to let you walk alone at night" he says laughing lightly. We arrive at my door he hugs me and says goodbye. I let myself fall onto the bed smiling like an idiot, falling asleep.
