We sat at our usual place. I sat with Jeremy while Ben sat at the opposite side to us. "I'll go order." Jer said and went to place the order. He knew my favourite dish, but don't know about Ben's. Hmm.

Ben wouldn't stop with my phone. "Ben, would please give me back my phone?"

"Buy why?"

"Don't ask me why. You've been playing with it since we left. I'm sure it's probably overheated by now."

"It's not. I promise." He continued playing. Then he stopped. "Wait, where's Jeremy?"

"He went to order our food."

"Why didn't he tell me?"

"Uh- why would he?"

"So I could pay, duh!"

"Nah. He always pays for everyone."

"Really? I should eat breakfast with him everyday then."

"Don't be a jerk." I slapped his temples.

"I'm kidding." He laughed. After a couple of seconds Jer came back.

"You really paid for Ben?"

"You know I always pay for the people who eat with me. It's my way of saying thank you for keeping me company."

They both smiled. I just sat there awkwardly like a potato. It seems like those two are starting to get along. I just know Ben has motives. He always has motives for being nice to someone. After a couple of minutes my phone started ringing. Ben answered it like it was his. He put it on speaker. "Hi Ms Hart."

"Oh, hi Ben. How are you?"

"I'm good and you?"

"Doing well. Can I talk to Freddy?"

"Sure." He slides the phone closer to me.

"Hi mom."

"Hi sweety. How are you?"

"I'm fine."

"I just wanted to check on you."

"I'm good mom. You don't have to check on me every time you go on business trips."

"I know. I just can't stop worrying about you."

"Mom, I'm not a baby anymore."

"You'll always be a baby to me."

"Mom!"

She laughed. "I also call to tell you some bad news."

"What bad news?"

"I won't be able to make it in time for your birthday this time. I'm sorry sweety."

"What?"

"I'm so sorry. But I promise to make it up to you."

"Mom, this is the first time I won't spend my special day with you."

"I know and it hurts me too. But at least you have Jeremy and Ben."

"Yeah I guess. Let me guess, you're at Thailand again?"

"Yup."

"Say hi to P'Tee for me."

"I will. I'll call you later again."

"Mom, don't. Stop worrying so much about me. I'll be fine."

"Alright. I'm still calling though."

"Bye mom."

"Bye. Love you."

"Love you too." Ben snatched the phone away again. "Ben!"
