"When life comes crashing down, you have to take responsibility, because its then that you're given the opportunity to show what you're capable of. "

My mum always told  me that whenever I was in a situation where I became immature, whether it was fighting at school or bunking or even swearing at teachers. Back then I thought that I was the perfect child, the perfect teen and that in life everything would be done for me. I realised that it was not the case only when something that life changing happened. During that time I realised how much I took advantage of my life.

As I got closer to the GP my eyes landed on the familiar shop with the words 'pharmacy?' Written on them above in big white blocks, even though the 'R' in pharmacy

"Lizzy!" Sher my mini me heaped from behind the counter

"Hey sherry" I grinned "how are you?"

"I'm okay" she answered shortly

Turning to Mr R, he slowly looked up from his daughter to me, he smiled weakly and pulled out a plastic bag from under the desk.

"Thank you so much" I smiled and pulled out my card hoping that there was money

"No worries Elizabeth, and no need to pay! I've paid for it for you" he explained, I was about to get frustrated at him, two people have paid for me so far, why?

"In that case, I should pay you back-"

"Nonsense! There's no need for that Elizabeth, I consider you family do you know that?" he looked hurt.

"Yeah I know" I mumbled like an annoyed teenager

He chuckled and smiled "we'll then, we're sorted here, so how's your mother ?"

"she's well today, she has stopped talking to herself for a whole three days now, but she keeps, looking at me and watching me and...smiling" I frowned "She's able to do some things for herself, like bathing without sinking in the water like before, eating and clothing herself. she's much much better" I smiled.

He nodded "well, those are all good signs so far, and  maybe when she looks at you because she recognises you?"

My eyes widened "do you really think so?"

He nodded "definitely, one of my patients the hospital had the same symptoms, and when-

"Can I pick up my prescription

Glancing at Sher, I watched her as she sat reading an English revision book

"um, why aren't you at School?"I asked with a smile as I neared the counter in front of Sher, who looked up, Mr R gave me the look that just said 'leave it' buy I shook him off

"Thanks love" the old lay grinned, flashing the few teeth she had left.

Mr R politely nodded "you're very welcome mrs-"

"Ms!" She cut through him startling us   All "it's Ms carlmond" she smiled at him win a

"My mistake Ms Carlmond" he smiled a little Nervously

She shook her head "it's quiet aright Richard, I'll see you soon my dear" she smiled enforce walking out, turning to him in shock I opened my mouth.

"Don't even ask. She comes here every time I'm working, I do not even know who told her my first name, it's quite disturbing really" he sighed and turned to Sher then me "what was I telling you?"

"Nothing. I was just asking sherry here why she's not at school" I smiled

"Oh" he replied looking at sher with concern, she sighed and rolled her eyes before looking at new

"I felt sick, so I called dad to come and pick me up" she shrugged with a frown, but I knew her like the back of my hand.

I chuckled "so you really expect me to believe that?" I asked her, she looked up with slightly watery eyes, I sighed at the swelling in my chest that I felt for this little girl.

"Why don't you go to the coffee room, I need to serve some customers" Mr R Sighed "Elizabeth"

"Mm?" I replied

"Please?" Mr R gestured to sher and I gave a quick nod. Going around the counter, I grabbed on to sher's hand and slowly guided her further behind the counter and to the coffee room.

"What happened?" I demanded

" Its just...she did it again, she embarrassed  me in front of everyone!" Sher teared up

"Again?" I frowned "I thought told her to leave you alone?"

Sher shrugged "Apparently it was because she saw me talking to mark"

"Are you serious?" hearing her statement I tutted inside, does it mean the girl owns this mark guy?

"They're not even together, he doesn't like her at all, yet she loves to think that he does" she sniffed and yet again I soothed her

"So she got jealous" I stated

"Exactly what I thought, oh gosh I wish you were always there to tell her to just go away" sher sniffled

I rubbed her back gently "do you know what, that's why I don't associate with boys" I shrugged "I probably never will"

"And that's why you'll die alone with 16 cats" she noted and laughed

"Hey!" I laughed at her humour and hoped her in the ribs.
