Sena's POV

We all met at the expressway, only to find out that Max, Andrea, and Shane were gone. Rick announced that Shane was dead, I was suspicious as to how he died, he looked uncomfortable talking about it- I mean, yeah he was his best friend but it didn't seem right. Rick came over to me and ushered me away from the others. He gave me a worried expression, he sounded terrible when he spoke

"I.. I have to find Max- I have to go back and try but Lori won't let me out of her sight-"

"I can distract her, say you need to get gas from the farm." I suggest, he nods, he gulped and I saw the sadness in his eyes. It caught me off guard seeing how badly he needed to find her. He glanced back at me, he was breathing heavily

"She told me she loved me."

I smile and then feel my eyes water, I was happy to know that he cared for her back like she did for him. I was crying because they were separated. I didn't know if they were just separated by distance but I didn't know if she was still breathing. He gave a small whimper and he sniffled, I saw that he was becoming emotional as well.

"Please, cover for me. And if I'm not back in an hour have Daryl find me." He says, he then gives the group another look, making sure no one was watching, and he dashed into the woods. I turned around and walked over to the group who was mourning. I peered over at Lori who was hugging Carl, she then began to look around for who I assumed was Rick. I then felt Jamie bounce into my lap, I hugged her

"Max is going to be back." I think out loud, it wasn't necessarily for her comfort but for mine. I kept trying to think that she would die trying to find Rick.

...

Rick's POV

I tried to keep as silent as possible while running through the woods. I saw hundreds of walkers at the farm. I took a deep breath, knowing that she was worth it if I died today. I also had Carl to think about which also made me cautious and not run into the field like a crazy man. I found a clearing between walkers and made a run into the house. I attracted about ten walkers at the doorstep, I closed the door behind me and shouted Max's name. I went upstairs and saw nothing. I went to her room and scanned the walls, I paused when I saw one a necklace of hers. She never really wore jewelry but I remember her keeping this necklace because it has a pictures of her family and friends in it. I swipe it off the night stand and ran down the stairs. I clenched it inside my fist, reminding me to find her but to also think about Carl. I looked out the window and saw walkers pass by, unaware of me inside the house. But I couldn't ignore the fact that there were walkers pounding on the weak front door. Once the door started to split, I yelled Max's name again then rushed out the back door. I looked around and saw walkers start to take notice of me. I started to run towards the woods, being grabbed and growled at but never being caught. I left them behind and my direction unknown when I outran them.

I couldn't handle Sena's hopeful regards towards me. Lori rushed over to me and hugged me. I didn't really hug back, I was depressed from my failed attempt to trying to find Max. I was even more bothered by the thought that she may not even be breathing.

"Why did you leave?" Lori asked, I sighed

"Tried to find gas for the vehicles."

She then smacked me across the face. I stood there, shocked she had just done that in front of everyone.

"Were you even thinking?!" She yelled, her face red and her bangs hanging low in her face. I looked at Carl who was standing by Beth and Maggie. I looked back at Lori, not wanting to deal with her shit in the moment

"Yeah, I was thinking how the hell were we supposed to leave here on empty tanks!" I retorted. She shook her head in disbelief

"You went back to find Max, didn't you?" She asked, her voice was still sharp but quiet so no one would hear us

"Does it really matter?" I growled

"Do you even care about our marriage anymore?" She asked

I sighed, turning my head to the other direction. She shook her head

"If it takes that long to answer, you don't."

I look at her, I was fuming.

"I care as much as you did when you went and slept with Shane a week after you thought that I was dead." I hissed. She bows her head, she looked up at me with cold eyes

"You're still mad about that?"

I clenched my jaw, I kicked a random stroller that was next to one of the cars, I drew everyone's attention again

"Of course I am! I had to kill him because of what you two did! And now I have to raise his baby.." I trailed off, she looked at me, appalled by my behavior, I then looked at her again, "Fuck, Lori, am I not allowed to have a say in this relationship or make any mistakes like you have?"

She didn't say anything, I stormed away.
