We were walking down the road to go back to the house. Carl was quiet but it there wasn't a harshness to it like before, it was like a peaceful quiet, like at the end of a war. I was listening to the birds and enjoying the sun on my back when I heard someone hiss from afar, before I could do anything, Rick and Michonne ran up to us and told us to run. I looked over at the house, not knowing why we were running away but Rick guided me with his arm, making sure I ran with him.

"What's going on-"

Rick hushed me, we ran until we were well away from the house. We then stopped, Carl and I looked at Michonne and Rick who were catching their breaths.

"What's going on?" Carl repeated my question with a louder voice. Michonne hushed him, Rick looked at me,

"People came into the house. Michonne was downstairs in the kitchen and I was sleeping upstairs in a bed. She made her way out and we both bolted." Rick explained, he then looked over at Carl

"Good thing we were gone." Carl nudges my arm with a small smile, I smile back. I was relieved that he was getting to warm up to me. Michonne and Carl went in front of Rick and I, Rick came over to me and wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me in so he could kiss my cheek. I smile at him, he grinned at me.

...

"Here is gonna have to do." Rick says to all of us. We were on the edge of the woods and the road so we were hidden if anyone came across us. We all settled on the ground, Rick made a fire for us. We barely had any supplies so we had to sleep on the ground without a sleeping bag. Rick saw that I was cold while we were around the fire and put his jacket over my shoulders, I was about to object, knowing he was probably cold too but he whispered in my ear,

"I'm fine." He gave my cheek a peck and pulled me closer into him. Michonne was talking with Carl, they started to laugh.

"You guys are quite a pair." Rick smiled at them, Michonne laughed at his comment and raised her eyebrows. The rest of the time we were awake was light-hearted and it felt like everything was back to normal like it was at the prison. But once the fire died down, we all were cold. Rick laid down with me and wrapped his arms around my body, keeping me a little warm.

"Rick..." I whispered, he opened his eyes, he looked into mine

"Are you cold?"

"I'm okay... I just, I'm worried." I admitted to him. He shifted so he could meet eye to eye with me better.

"Worried about what?" He was concerned now

"About finding the others."

"We'll find them... We already found Michonne- or she found us." He tried to comfort me. I looked into his eyes a little while longer,

"So, you and Carl are at better terms?" He asked

"Yeah, we are." I finally got to say it out loud, like it was finally real. I couldn't help but smile, Rick smiled at me and kissed my lips. We kissed for moments until we started to make out. We pulled away from one another when either Carl or Michonne moved around in their sleep. Rick started to kiss me again when they stopped, I held his face, I wanted him to keep kissing me but I was a little uncomfortable with having Carl and Michonne right next to us. I pushed him gently away, he looked into my eyes as he hovered above me, his eyes twinkled

"Not the best time to do this, huh?" He smiled, understanding why I was stopping. I smiled and nodded, he laid next to me and we fell asleep.

....

"Ew, no. Give me the skittles." I said to Carl while grinning, he teased me by pretending to hand me the skittles but then when I reached for them he'd take them away.

"Come on, I don't like M&M's." Carl begged, he lost to me in a race we had. Now he wanted to hustle me out of my win.

"I'm sorry, but the rules are the rules." I shrugged, he groaned and gave the small bag to me. I saw that he was a little bummed from losing, so I gave him half of the bag. He smiled at me,

"Thanks, Max."

"Hey, Michonne, how does it feel to lose?" I teased, she gave me a smirk and raised her eyebrows afterwords,

"I don't know, we were pretty close in that race."

"You want a rematch?" I challenged, she laughed,

"Maybe later, Rick is having hell trying to manage us kids." Michonne then motioned back behind us where Rick was walking by himself. I laughed, Rick looked at me,

"What?"

"You're a slow poke." I walked towards him, he smiled. We shared a walking pace now. Michonne and Carl were a few feet ahead of us.

"Have you been seeing those signs?" Rick asked me. I had an idea of what he was talking about. There were signs along the road claiming that there was a sanctuary, open to everyone who came.

"The Terminus ones?" I asked,

"Yeah. I know that if Glenn saw it he'd go... Just in case if anyone else did too." Rick says. I looked at him,

"I think Sena would think it'd be a load of bullshit," Rick laughed, "But I think she'd know that I would be there."

Rick looked up at me,

"So you want to try it out?"

I nodded, "I mean, it's better than being out here... and the rest of the group may be there."

He nods, he looks around. Something he did when he was thinking,

"We'll see how far we are now the next sign we come across."
