Chapter 35

It was the next day, we were probably 30 miles away from Woodbury, our guards weren't as high as they were yesterday.

"How are we going to find them?" I asked, I was becoming more and more discouraged as I trudged through the woods with her. They could've been in a different state for all that I know.

"We'll find them." Michonne says with no emotion. I then hear a few twigs snapping, I turned around to feel a fist come across my face, instantly pushing me down to the ground. I then hear someone running away, there was probably four people, I feel someone pick me up and I finally open my swelling eye to see Merle bending over me with a devilish smile.

"Kill her." He says, I thought he meant to kill me- I felt my throat close up but once I heard a few people run in the direction michonne probably ran in, I felt panic settle inside.

"Thought you were gettin' away, sugar?" He chuckled, he then threw me to another man and the guy tied my hands up and put duct tape over my mouth, guiding me to a tree truck.

I probably sat there for an hour, losing my mind as I wondered where michonne was and how she was going to get out of this one. I then hear a gunshot, I feel my heart stop. When Merle comes back with only two other guys and no michonne, I grew confused

"The bitch is good as dead." Merle murmured to the other men. I feel my eyes tingle with tears, a man picks me up and throws me so I can walk, I stumbled and Merle caught me

"And the governor is gonna use you real good..." Merle says to me then chuckles, I feel terror build up inside me. I tried to think of ways to get out of here, but there was three men, twice my size with weapons. I had no choice but to climb into the truck and go back to Woodbury.

I didn't remember being given drugs to pass out, but I was given them when I found myself in a room that had metal sheets for walls. There was an eerie light placed in the middle on the ceiling, a seat in the middle. I panicked and screamed through the duct tape, I banged my head against the wall, trying to make some type of noise, making myself known. I then heard a familiar voice that made me freeze up

"Hello?! Maggie- Maggie is that you?!" It was Glenn.
It.Was.Glenn.

I then started to scream at the top of my lungs, kicking the wall. I started to rub the edge of the duct tape on the wall, rubbing it off, inch by inch until the corner of my mouth was free

"Glenn- Glenn- Glenn- it's me- it's max- it's me!" I screamed, my voice hoarse and rough, I coughed violently afterwords.

"Max- oh my god, max? It's- it's you?!" He yelled, I then hear him bang against the wall with a thud, I guessed he moved to the wall I was leaning against. I was crying now, I could barely let out a word

"It's- it's- me." I balled

He laughed, it was a panicked laugh but it sounded like he was happy to know I was alive.

"Is- is Maggie in there?"

"No- no, she isn't- why, is she here? Where are we?" I asked

"I don't know... Merle kidnapped Maggie... Maggie and I while getting formula for- for Rick."

I then feel my whole body stiffen when I heard ricks name. Tears streamed down my face

"Is... Is Rick still alive?"

"Yeah, yeah, he's alive- Lori... Lori died giving birth to the baby-"

I couldn't believe what he had just said. I couldn't speak,

"Max- max- we need- we need to get out of here. I can take you back- I can take you back to Rick and we'll find Maggie- we'll find Maggie..." He says to himself. I look up to see Merle opening the door to my room.

"What- what are you doing?-" I hear Glenn ask someone, his voice full of panic. I then see Merle bring in a walker with chains. It was growling at me, I felt my face go pale. I then hear Glenn scream and a walker growl, I guessed someone put a walker in his room too. There was crashing and banging.

"Please- please don't-" I cried, Merle let it go, it charged at me. I screamed and ran out of the corner the best I could, my hands were tied behind my back and my feet were tied together. The walker hit the wall behind where I was, due to its lack in agility. I look at the chair, I put my hands in front of me by lifting them over my head. I picked the chair up and swung it across the walker as it charged at me, it flew back. The chair split into pieces. There was a leg that got broken off, I charged at it and stabbed the walker in the face, it then died, sinking to the ground. I was breathing hard, blood and splinters all over my hands. I then notice that it was silent, I grew terrified that Glenn died,

"Glenn- glenn?!" I screamed, I then hear my door open, it was Glenn. It cried and rushed to him. He hugged me, I stayed in his arms for a few moments. I then separated from him, he my ropes off, releasing my legs and hands. He then gives me a sharp bone, I guessed it came from a walker. It was covered in blood

"We- we need to find Maggie." He says, his face was busted up, I knew that they tried to torture him. I nodded and we moved down the hall, door after door until we found her in her bra against the wall. She saw Glenn first, she cried and ran to him. They separated, Glenn was watching her, confused why she was only in her bra.

"He- he didn't do anything- he-" Maggie explains that whoever disrobed her didn't rape her, Glenn hugs her again. She then saw me behind him, her eyes widened and she let go of Glenn.

"Max...?" She asked. I smiled and my eyes filled with tears, we hugged. She hugged me tightly

"How-how?" She asked

"I found a place... Called Woodbury- and I think we're still here." I say, she then looks around. We then hear men's voices come from down the hall, walking towards us. Glenn and I looked at each other, knowing we had to ambush them. The first one only had time to look at me before Glenn kicked the back of his knees then stabbed the guy in the head, instantly killing him. I grabbed the man's gun and shot the next few guys. The men had gas bombs, we used them to get past the rest where we escaped to Woodbury's street.
