In the morning, there was a heavy fog. It wasn't creepy or anything, it was almost refreshing. Rick and Luke had talked for awhile, I couldn't listen to their conversation but I would be able to hear if one of them started to yell or shoot the other one from the other room. Rick had returned to the room where everyone was sleeping in, including myself, around 7 in the morning. The sun was out already, I could see him clearly standing in the doorway. Everyone was still sleeping, I got up and walked over to Rick to talk about what happened with him and Luke last night. Rick had Judith in his arms,

"Good morning." He says, his rugged yet calming voice was nice to hear first thing in the morning, it reminded me of every morning in the prison. I smiled softly at him,

"How was the talk with Luke?" I asked him. He looked in the other room where Luke was, Luke was sleeping. He looked back at me,

"Good... We talked about his dad and his brother, our two groups merging. We're good for now."

I was happy, it was a huge relief to finally have him and Rick get along.

"Does he want to bring Nick and Pete to Alexandria to get buried?" I asked. Rick bowed his head,

"Max, Alexandria isn't something written in stone yet."

I furrowed my eyebrows, I stood up straight, "why wouldn't it be?"

He sighs, "I need to approve of it. I want to make sure that I'm bringing everyone in a safe place. Somewhere that's safe for Judith and Carl, somewhere safe for you-" he cut himself off once he started to say the last part. I felt my throat become unusually sore, like when you're just about to cry. I tried to distract my mind from dwelling on the fact that I'm still one of his top priorities. Rick was embarrassed, but he kept explaining that Alexandria wasn't something to count on.

"Okay." I say, I wanted to just leave his presence, I couldn't handle being close to him without being able to be his, for him to be mine. Something that would eat at me for as long as I'll live.

...

We took the car and the RV to Alexandria. I was in the car with Rick, Carl, Judith and Jamie. I was holding Judith, lightly bouncing her in my arms to keep her happy and giggling. Rick would look over at her, smiling, we'd lock eyes sometimes and smile.

"She's getting bigger... She's crying less and less." Rick says. I smile at judith, she cooed.

"Carl needs to stop wearing so much cologne." I heard Jamie complain in the back seat. Carl rolled his eyes, I couldn't help but smile. They were like brother and sister.

"Jamie smells." Carl says bluntly. Jamie and Carl start bickering, Rick sighed,

"Hey, Carl, stop it." Rick says to him in the rearview mirror. Carl throws his hands in the air, frustrated. Rick was about to say something but he stopped when we started to see walls up ahead. We pulled up a few yards away from them, the RV was behind us and stopped too. I saw Rick looking at the walls, I watched him as he did. Then I asked him,

"How are you going to determine if this place is good or not?" I ask him. Rick looks a little more at the walls, he then turns to face me, his eyes soft. They looked different,

"What did you hear standing outside of Terminus' walls... Outside of Woodbury?" He asks me. We both look at the community.

"I heard nothing." I answered, remembering the unforgettable silence there was outside of the two. Rick then asks me,

"What do you hear now?"

Since we pulled up, I heard children playing and people talking. I looked at Rick, I smiled. I wanted to kiss him so badly, knowing that he approved of Alexandria, but I couldn't.
