When I opened my eyes, instead of being wrapped protectively in Dean's arms in our motel bed like I had been when I fell asleep, I was sitting in a white plush chair in front of a silver desk. To the left of the desk was a wall with white lights separated into rectangles by silver bars.

"I recognize this place," I muttered to myself.

"Good. You should," a woman's voice sounded behind me.

I looked over to see a woman in a grey pantsuit, her brown hair pulled back into a knot at the back of her head. On her back were the now familiar pair of black wings I'd began to realize all angels had.

"Why do I recognize this place?" I asked as she took a seat in the chair behind the desk.

"Because you've been here before. After Dean shot you."

I looked over to see Dean pointing the colt at me. Inside my body, I wrestled for control, and suddenly I overpowered the demon. I saw hesitation flicker in Dean's eyes as I took control of my body once more.

"It's okay, Dean," I smiled. "Shoot me."

A single tear rolled down Dean's cheek as he pulled the trigger and my world went black.

"It was you who brought me back," I realized, talking more to myself than to the angel across from me. "But I don't remember that first meeting."

"No," the angel agreed, shaking her head. "We made sure you returned without your memories of this place. It wasn't time yet."

"It wasn't time for what exactly?"

"For you to know the truth, of course."

I stared at the angel blankly, confused as to what she could possibly be talking about.

"Haven't you wondered about your role in all this? The apocalypse?"

I swallowed hard, glancing down and off to the side before looking back up at her.

"Where are Sam and Dean?"

"They're safe. Zachariah is taking care of them."

A jolt of panic went through my body at the name, though I wasn't sure why.

"Aren't they worried about me? Won't they notice I'm not with them?"

"Not unless Zachariah wants them to," the angel shook her head again. "But enough about them. We're here to talk about you."

"What about Cass? Where's he?"

"Don't worry about Castiel. We're keeping an eye on him after what happened with Uriel. We're keeping an eye on all of you. Now, let's get down to business, shall we?"

The angel opened a file that I hadn't noticed before on the desk in between us before folding her hands together and just studying me silently for a moment.

"The traitor Anna tried to tell you about your abilities before she stole her grace back," the angel stated.

"She said I can kill both demons and angels," I recalled.
