2014!Dean was quiet, staring at me for a long time, the pain back in his eyes.

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him... and when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child."

I swallowed hard, looking down at my feet.

"What was the mission, anyway?" my Dean asked, changing the subject.

2014!Dean turned away from me, placing a gun on the table.

"The Colt?"

"The Colt."

"Where was it?"

"Everywhere. They've been moving it around. Took me five years, but... I finally got it. And tonight- tonight, I'm gonna kill the Devil."

Risa and Cass had joined us in the cabin. It was really unnerving, seeing Cass without his wings.

"So, that's it?" Risa thrust her chin toward the gun on the table. "That's the Colt?"

"If anything can kill Lucifer, this is it," 2014!Dean replied.

"Great. Have we got anything that can find Lucifer?"

"Are you okay?"

"Oh," my Dean piped up, "we were in, uh, Jane's cabin last night. And apparently, we and... Risa have a connection."

2014!Dean gave his past counterpart a hard glare.

"You want to shut up?"

2009!Dean raised his hands in a gesture of surrender, sitting back and taking my hand, rubbing slow circles into the back of it. I zoned back in a little, giving him a small smile before letting it drop into a frown once more. The passage 2014!Dean had quoted, verses nine and thirteen from Revelation 12, was really messing with my head.

"We don't have to find Lucifer," 2014!Dean continued. "We know where he is. The demon that we caught last week, he was one of the big guy's entourage. He knew."

"So, a demon tells you where Satan's gonna be, and you just believe it?" Risa demanded.

"Oh, trust me, he wasn't lying."

"And you know this, how?"

"Our fearless leader, I'm afraid, is all too well schooled in the art of getting to the truth," Cass explained.

"Torture?" my Dean translated. "Oh, so we're- we're torturing again."

2014!Dean looked over at 2009!Dean.

"No, that's- that's good. Classy."

Cass laughed, and future Dean turned to look at him with a bewildered expression.

"What?" Cass grinned, defending himself. "I like past you."

"Lucifer is here," 2014!Dean said, pointing to a spot on a map. "Now. I know the block and I know the building."

"Oh good- it's right in the middle of a hot zone," Cass noted.

"Crawling with Croats, yeah. You saying my plan is reckless?"

"Are you saying we, uh, walk straight up the driveway, past all the demons and Croats, and we shoot the Devil?"

"Yes," 2014!Dean nodded.

"Okay," Cass nodded as well, "if you don't like, uh, 'reckless', I could use 'insouciant', maybe."

"Are you coming?"

"Of course. But why are they? I mean, he's you five years ago. If something happens to him, you're gone, right? And she-"

"They're coming," future Dean cut the former angel off.

"Okay. Well, uh. I'll get the grunts moving."

"We're loaded and on the road by midnight."

"Alrighty."

The 2014!Cass and Risa both exited the cabin, just leaving the two Deans and me.

"Why are you taking us?" my Dean asked.

"Relax. You'll be fine. Zach's looking after you, right?"

"No, that's not what I mean. I want to know what's going on."

"Yeah, okay. You're coming because I want you to see something. I want you to see our brother."

"Sam? I thought he was dead."

"Sam didn't die in Detroit. He said 'yes'."

"'Yes'?" 2009!Dean echoed.

There was a pause.

"Wait. You mean-"

"That's right," 2014!Dean nodded. "The big 'yes'. To the Devil. Lucifer's wearing him to the prom... with his Ecclesia on his arm."

I looked up then, eyes wide.

"With his..." my Dean trailed off, looking at me. "Lucifer has Ellie?"

"It took a few years, but he managed to steal her away from us."

Dean swallowed hard, tightening his grip on my hand.

"Why would Sam do that?"

"Wish I knew," future Dean shrugged. "But now we don't have a choice. It's in him, and it's not getting out. And we've got to kill him, Dean. And you need to see it- the whole damn thing, how bad it gets- so you can do it different."

"What do you mean?"

"Zach said he was gonna bring you back, right? To oh-nine?"

"Yes."

"Well, when you get back home- you say 'yes'. You hear me. Say 'yes' to Michael."

"That's crazy. If I let him in, then Michael fights the Devil. The battle's gonna torch half the planet."

"Look around you, man. Half the planet's better than no planet, which is what we have now. If I could do it over again, I'd say 'yes' in a heartbeat."

"So why don't you?"

"I've tried!" 2014!Dean yelled, slamming a fist on the table. "I've shouted 'yes' till I was blue in the face! The angels aren't listening! They just- left- gave up! It's too late for me, but for you-"

"Oh no. There's got to be another way," my Dean shook his head.

"Yeah, that's what I thought. I was cocky. Never actually thought I'd lose. But I was wrong, Dean. I was wrong. I'm begging you. Say 'yes'."

There was a pause.

"But you won't," he continued. "Cause I didn't. Because that's just not us, is it?"

My Dean was riding with 2014!Castiel in a separate vehicle while I rode with 2014!Dean. It was silent and awkward for a little while before he spoke.

"Look, Ellie Bear, I tried. After Sam said 'yes', I tried everything in my power to keep you away from him. But..."

"Don't," I whispered, voice breaking. "You don't get to try and defend yourself to me. You made your choice already, and your Ellie paid the price. But me, and my Dean, we haven't made those choices yet."

He looked over at me with that same damned pained expression, but I refused to meet his eyes.
