Scene 040

Meeting up with Karr and Jac, the party stepped into the lift. "Do we use the transporter while docked or is there another way out of the ship?"

"When docked inside a station or on a planet you can exit by any cargo bay or by the lift. If just docked to the outside of a station or to another ship you must use the lift," Karr explained.

"Which way are we leaving by?" questioned Amy.

"We are leaving by the lift," Dam answered.

"Why?" Amy asked, leaning into Dam's side.

"Yes, I want everyone on the station to know that we are here. One, I've chosen a mate and everyone needs to know what she looks like. Two, I want everyone to know we have a party of four and three of us are trained warriors." Dam replied, grabbing and squeezing Amy's hand.

Feeling a little nervous Amy asked. "Are you telling me someone is going to greet us?"

"Most likely, no," Jac answered. "But, someone is monitoring the ship as we speak."

"I'm ready," Amy said.

Dam called, "Exit." The lift started to move.

As the lift stopped, Jac and Karr stepped to the front of it. Each had on a wristband, with a press of a button a shield appeared on their arm. Then touching a button up on their ears, a helmet appeared.

The lift doors opened, Jac and Karr stepped through, taking a place at one side of the door. Dam then took Amy's elbow and escorted her out of the lift. "I'm scarred," Amy muttered. "I don't have a full translator like you. I won't know what is being said."

"Don't worry. One of us will always be near you and give you aid," reassured Dam.

Amy let out a large sigh. Looking around the repair bay, it looked like a great big auto shop. The bay had a wall of tools on one side, a wall of parts and boxes, a large wall door, and some type of machines hanging from the ceiling.

"Are you ready?" Dam asked.

Amy nodded.

Jac took the lead, Dam and Amy followed, and Karr brought up the rear. They walked toward a single door at the far end of the bay.

Amy walked through the door into a lift. When the lift stopped the doors, opened into a large area filled with people and stalls of merchandise. The stalls ran along the walls and down the center of the room. It looked like an indoor flea market. "So many different races of people, there is so much to see," Amy said feeling excited but also fearful.

"You'll be fine." Dam assured her again. "You've your collar, your outfit, and one of us will be with you at all times. Let's go." They left the lift in the same order they entered.

The closest patrons of the market stopped what they were doing to watch the party stepping out of the lift. A ripple of silence filled the room. Dam said. "OK, let's find what we're looking for."

"Are all these people staring at me?" Amy whispered, looking out at the crowd. There were all kinds of humanoid people, dog-like, lizard-like, robots, any color and type body type imaginable. Also, many different types of languages heard.

"No, They're all looking at my manly physique." Jac joked, flashing a smile at Amy.

With a shake of Dam's head and a smile, the noise in the room returned to normal.

Jac turned down the first isle. As Amy followed she thought, I hope I know what a pet is out here. I don't want to cause any problems.

"Everything is going to be fine." Dam assured Amy as he felt her hesitate and squeezed her hand. "We'll help you find a pet."
