Scene 081

Tiarra returned to herself, she jumped up, and backed away from Amy. "Monster," She cried.

Cat chided. "Not a monster, just better trained and more powerful than yourself. You have finally received what you have dished out to others for years."

"Monster," Tiarra said. She escaped to the other side of the room.

"What did you do?" asked Dam. He encased Amy in an embrace as she stood up.

"I beat her at her own game. She jumped into my mind. I don't know why. I can't change anything, even if I want to, which I don't. I was waiting for her. She was surprised." Taking a deep breath, Amy snuggled deeper into Dam's embrace. "You are right. She does need counseling. Somewhere, somehow, she has become very twisted."

"Yes," Dam said with a quick hug. He rested his chin on top of Amy's head. He had a faint ideal what Tiarra had planned to do in Amy's mind. The thought scared him.

"You have an ideal on what she was going to do. Don't you?" stated Amy. She looked into Dam's green cat eyes.

A cloud passed over his eyes. He smiled down at Amy, but the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Cat," He called. "I want the High Medic Tiarra in a medical-mental field until we reach Valdiar."

"Blocking her mentally like that could put her over the edge," said Cat. She didn't like Tiarra but she didn't despise her either. The medics, who have tried out the medical-mental field, said it was like one of their senses had been cut off.

"You heard Amy tell me what the High Medic Tiarra tried to do. From you, I hear this isn't the first time she has pulled something like this. Call Santi. She is to place the High Medic Tiarra in an mm field. She helped develop the mm field," said Dam.

Amy gave Dam an inquiring look and a nudge. He ignored her for a moment. "Santi, Jac, and Lubin are on the way," replied Cat.

Within moments Jac, Santi, and Lubin entered the room. Santi rushed to Amy. "Are you all right? Cat explained what Tiarra had tried to do." Santi gave a shutter. "Now is one of the few times I am glad for my training. I know now why she showed up. She knew my training would not allow her to influence me. So she tried to influence you directly."

Amy nodded. The group turned to look at Tiarra cowering in the corner of the room. "I don't think. She liked our little talk. I think. I might have scared her. I'm not as subtle as she," Amy said.

"Poor Tiarra. I could have told her she wouldn't succeed. To some degree, I tried to do what she tired to do, before your training. You blocked me then. There is no way now, she could even hope to succeed," said Santi. Slowly, Santi walked toward Tiarra. She didn't want to startle her. Santi put her hand out as she reached Tiarra.

Tiarra turned and latched onto Santi, still looking at Amy. She muttered over and over again, "Monster."

Santi reached behind her to get a tranquilizer, within seconds after receiving the tranquilizer Tiarra was calmer. Santi called out the commands for the medical-mental field to apply to Tiarra. The tranquilizer put Tiarra totally asleep at the same time the m-m field took effect. "That should hold her until we reach Valdiar. It won't hurt her a bit to sleep that long," said Santi. Jac helped her place Tiarra in a medical bay.

Dam watched the whole process. "Santi and Cat, you need to make a full report of everything that has accrued here and why it was done. Also, I want an investigation done into anything Tiarra has benefited from either directly or indirectly. The people she has programmed or intimidated need help." Dam looked down at Amy and a harsh expression crossed his face. "If she can't be helped then she will be stripped of all her mental powers."

A gasp came from Santi and Cat. "That is a little harsh," said Jac.

Dam looked at Jac. "What if it had been Santi?"

The room was silent. Jac said, "I agree."

Amy had taken all she was going to take. Dam was going to answer the question she had been trying to get out now for the last few minutes. "What was she hoping to gain?"

Dam didn't answer, so Jac responded, "I can only guess. She was hoping to get your mind to have your body to reprogram your birth mark. Short of that, she would have reprogrammed your mind to hate Dam's touch. So your mating could not take place." Jac stopped. Dam sincerely hoped that was all Jac would say, but Jac continued on. "Until you are fully mated, it is theoretically possible for something like that to happen. After mating there is no way for mates to be parted."

Amy turned to Dam. "You knew about this, but didn't tell me. You let me believe there was nothing that could stop our mating." Amy growled. She turned in Dam's embrace to face him.

"Now -" Santi started to say.

Amy wrapped Dam and herself in a small sphere of space with a wave of her hand. "You mean to tell me, anyone can try to part us until we are physical and mental mated?" A blush swept over Amy. She continued, "That is while we are awake."

Dam nodded. He watched the barrier shine brighter and grow more solid in color with her anger. He knew where they were headed. He held his breath in anticipation.

Growling, Amy sprang and knocked Dam upon his back in the sphere. With a wave of her hand, their clothes disappeared. Pulling his head to hers, she gave him a long deep kiss.

"Let the mating begin," Dam said between kisses. Within moments, Amy and Dam were caught up in their lovemaking, totally forgetting the outside world.
