Hello my little marshmallows! How is your christmas break going? Are you as ready for 2016 to be over as I am? I have been trying to find inspiration for some new year's/christmas fics of our faves, and I think I may have succeeded. As always, I love to chat with you all and am always open to prompts, even though it may take me a bit to get to them. Also, if you missed the announcement, I started a new book! This is an original work by yours truly and it would mean bunches to me if you would check it out and give me your feedback. The book is called "To Breathe Again" Happy Reading!!

Valhalla was known for its parties. There was always lots of mead, amazing food, and the always famous Twister to the death just like any other good party. Magnus had been to a few parties in his time at Valhalla so far and did not expect to be disappointed by the upcoming New Year's Eve party. The only problem was that he might have a tiny, little bitty, rather small cold. It had all started that morning.

Magnus woke in the atrium of his hotel room in Valhalla, electing to sleep under the stars again. The first thing Magnus noticed was how abnormally cold he was. He had fallen asleep on top of his blanket, but thanks to his dad, Magnus rarely got cold. Magnus grabbed the throw blanket he had fallen asleep on top of and draped it around his shoulders. He padded over to the thermostat in his room to see that the temperature was at 75 as he had left it since coming to Valhalla. Magnus wondered vaguely if his thermostat was broken, but quickly moved on to getting ready for the day.

Magnus threw on his standard t-shirt and jeans and at the last second decided to grab a jacket. Magnus shut the door behind his as Alex Fierro sautered up behind him, almost knocking him over. Magnus didn't even flinch, Alex wasn't actually coherent until she had had her morning coffee, she probably hadn't even noticed him yet. Magnus and Alex walked silently to the dining room for floor 19. Magnus took a seat at their usual table across from Mallory and Halfborn, who were arguing about something, per usual. Those two had such a weird relationship, one minute they were making out and the next they were about to kill each other. Just then, Alex sat down beside Magnus and proceeded to stare at the wall until she had drained at least half of her second cup of coffee.

Magnus, seeing that there was no conversation in his near future, went to the buffet table to see what was for breakfast this morning. Presently there was a selection of toast, pancakes, and cereal. Magnus felt an odd sensation in his stomach as he went for the pancakes, so he decided some toast was a better bet. Magnus walked back to the table just in time for Alex to finish her second cup of coffee and become fully coherent.

"What's with the bird food?"

"I'm just not very hungry is all."

Alex looked at Magnus with a raised eyebrow.

"You're always hungry. It's one of your many less charming qualities."

At this, Magnus just shrugged and continued eating his meager breakfast.

After breakfast the floor 19 crew split up and Magnus made to go back to his room since a headache had started to form between his eyebrows.

"Where are you going?"

"To my room. What's it to you?" Magnus wasn't sure why he felt so defensive all of a sudden.

"Am I not allowed to be curious. What's up with you today?"

Magnus shrugged and continued shuffling to his room.

"Hey." Alex said in an almost inaudible voice.

"Huh?"

"So you know this New Year's Eve bash the Thanes are throwing?"

"Yeah. I hear there are twice as many deaths as at a regular party."

"Ha yeah. I was wondering, would you want to throw a frisbee?" Alex mumbled.

"What was that?"

"I said, would you want to go with me?" Alex huffed. She looked about as red as a cherry tomato.

"Y-yeah. I think that could be fun." Magnus was sure his face was as red as Alex's now.

"Okay. Pick me up at 8."

"Why do I need to pick you up?"

Isn't that what the guy is supposed to do on a date?"

Both looked like steam would start pouring from their ears at any time.

"Just be there at 8." Alex said forcefully as she pushed past Magnus and practically ran to her room and slammed the door behind her.

Magnus had no idea what just happened, but he was fairly certain that he had a date with Alex Fierro. His headache was getting worse just thinking about it, so Magnus made his way back to his room, turned out the lights, and promptly fell asleep under the large duvet on his bed.

I will be posting a part 2 shortly! The fic was getting ridiculously long. Hang tight my lovelies and let me know what you think of part one in the meantime.
