Hello my lovelies!  I received a request for some Jason/Reyna BroTP from LostinLibraries and I am in serious need of some fluff right now, so here we go!  Let me know what you think in the comments and feel free to drop by my inbox for a chat!
P.S. I'm reasonably sure that this is not all canon compliant, but I'm not sure and I can't be bothered to research.

Jason was back in New Rome.  He was supposed to be proposing a new idea for a monument to a new minor god.  Someone, most likely Apollo, had named someone goddess of selfies.  Jason wasn't quite sure why selfies needed a deity, but it wasn't his job to question the gods.  It was Friday night and Camp Jupiter was engaged in it's weekly capture the flag battle, a game they had picked up from the Greeks last year although, as with everything else, the Romans had made it slightly more deadly.

Jason was riding a white horse with Reyna at his side.  The two surveyed the battle field.

"What do you think?"  Reyna asked.

"Plan Z."

"Isn't that the plan where you're blind and I don't speak English?"

"Oh yeah.  Why do we even have that plan?"

"Remember four years ago in Lexington?"

"That's true.  How about plan F."

"That's more like it."  Reyna wasted no time diving into the action.

The two rode in line with each other, both horses and riders perfectly in sync.  Reyna drew her sword and Jason flipped his coin which melted into a spear in his hand.  He tightened his grip.  Jason waited until he could see the opposing team's flag.  It was almost within spear throwing distance.

"Now!"

Reyna jumped off of her horse with the agility of an elite gymnast and Jason's horse ran beside her.  Jason waited until they were within a few yards of the flag and jumped off of his horse as well.  He jumped right onto the shoulders of a guard and sent him toppling to the ground.  He let muscle memory take over, disarming those shorter than him and sending the larger ones toppling to the ground with a quick electric shock.

Jason reached the flag first and grabbed it.  Reyna watched for a moment and started playing on the defensive while Jason ran with the flag to his team's base.

He was almost there when a club came flying through the air and hit Jason squarely on top of the head.  He didn't even have time to register what had happened before crumpling to the ground.

"Jason!"  Reyna pushed aside the centurion she had been sparring with and ran to Jason's side.  She checked his pulse and was relieved to see his chest still rising and falling evenly.

"Medic!"  Reyna shouted.  In not time two field medics were kneeling by Jason and loading him onto a stretcher.  They quickly carried him off of the battle field, capture the flag still in full swing, and Reyna had to jog slightly to keep up.

The first thing Jason noticed was pain.  Pain everywhere, most of it originating from his head.  The next thing he noticed was how dry his mouth felt.  He smacked his lips a few times and waited as the rest of his senses came back to him.  Jason slowly moved his limbs, once they were all accounted for he opened his eyes.  Bad idea.  The light was like daggers straight into his eye sockets and made his headache about a thousand times worse.  He groaned.

"Oh my gods! Jason, are you awake? Can you hear me?"

Reyna must have been talking at a reasonable volume, but to Jason it sounded as if she were using Coach Hedge's bull horn.

"Shh"

"Sorry!"  Reyna added at a much more reasonable volume.

"S'okay.  What happened?"  Jason tried to remember what had brought him to the med bay, at least that's where he assumed he was, if the smell of antiseptic and the soft sound of beeping machinery was enough to go by.

"You really have a knack for getting smacked in the head by flying objects.  We were playing capture the flag.  You captured the flag and had almost made it back to base when you were hit by a flying club.  We're still not sure who was responsible, but just wait until I get my hands on them."

"I'm sure it was an accident."

Jason once again tried to open his eyes, going a fraction of an inch at a time.  He was indeed in the infirmary and Reyna was seated in a plastic chair beside him.  She looked as if she might have just woken up.

"So, what's the verdict?"

"Concussion with instructions for bed rest for at least twenty-four hours."

"Again?!"  Jason asked loudly, involuntarily sitting up on his elbow in the bed, exacerbating his headache.  He winced.

"Keep that up and I'll add another twenty-four."  Jason knew that she could and would so he lay back down.

"What am I supposed to do for a full day in here?  At least on the Argo II I had someone to talk to."

Reyna tried not to look a little hurt by this.  Jason seemed to realize the implications of what he had said.

"No.  That's not what I-"

"I get it Jason.  You forget that I know you better than you know yourself sometimes."

"No.  I just meant that I know you other duties to attend to besides sitting here watching me drift in and out of sleep."

"I don't have anything that can't wait until tomorrow.  Besides, this will give us time to catch up.  We haven't had a lot of time together since everything last year."

"Everything definitely happened fast."

"So I saw you were on the Schedule to speak to the Senate tomorrow.  I assume it's about the newly appointed minor goddess."

"Maybe avoid the "M" word."

Reyna laughed and gave a thumbs up.

"I love your laugh."

"Your delirious." Reyna rolled her eyes.

"Maybe a little loopy, but seriously, I love your laugh.  Especially your real laugh.  The one you use when you're not trying to impress someone."

The two were quiet for a moment and simply looked at each other.

"Well, you need to get some rest."  Reyna got up to leave.

Jason grabbed for her hand.

"Don't go. Please."

"I'm just going to get my pajamas.  I'm also going to see about arranging a cot here for the night.  Zeus knows that the second I leave you'll be trying to strain yourself and make everything worse."

"Will not."

"Sure."  Reyna walked over to the check in desk and spoke to the attendant.  After that she went back to her quarters, packed an overnight bag, and went back to the med bay.

Jason was asleep once again when she walked back through the doors.  She stopped and looked over at him before making up the cot next to his and changing into her pajamas.

Reyna thought back to what he'd said about being on the Argo II.  She would never truly understand what had gone on aboard the flying ship, and her relationship with Jason had definitely changed.  They had a bond that was never here nor there, but Reyna was sure of one thing, Jason Grace would always be her best friend.

There you have it my lovelies!  I'm not loving how it turned out, but maybe you have a different opinion.  I find it really hard to write Jason and Reyna as just friends.  I love the dynamic of their relationship and how it always seems to be right on the edge of just friends and something more.  I totally ship Jasper, but I loved how Jason and Reyna were written in the books. I'll stop rambling now.  Feed back is appreciated!
