When Mara, Joy, Willow, and Jerome were coming back up out of the basement, Alfie was just leaving the kitchen. He spotted them coming up because he had a clean view of the basement door from the kitchen door.

"What're you guys doing?"

"Alfie," Joy said quickly. "We were just...doing nothing. Bye."

Jerome hurried to his room, and the girls went to their rooms. Alfie went over to the basement door, opened it a bit, and peeked into the darkness. He would tell Sibuna about it tomorrow. He closed the door and went to his own room.

---------------------------------------

The next morning, Alfie had the other Sibuna members gather in his room. He told them about how he caught the other four yesterday, and he thought that they should investigate. No one wanted to make it seem obvious that all of them were missing. Nina and Fabian would go. They waited until the coast was clear, and then they went down with their flashlights. The wall that had turned yesterday was still open. After Nina and Fabian looked in the main room, they went into the corridor. The wall closed behind them as they made it to the end of the passage, where the pressure plate and hallways were.

"Ok," Fabian breathed. "Pressure plates were usually used to reveal secret doors and passages in ancient Egypt. Here goes nothing."

Fabian stepped on the plate. Nothing happened at first, but the wall in front of them that looked like a dead end, had slid back, revealing a round room with black sand all over the ground.

"Is it a booby trap?" Nina asked.

Fabian nodded. "Black sand is evil sand in Egypt. It may have strong magnetism and gold, but the down side is that it can sweep people away, or sink people."

"We should tell the others about this."

They ran back the way they came. They saw the mark of the eye of Horus, so Nina placed her locket up to it, and the wall turned to open. There was another mark on the other side to close it, so she did the same thing, and they hurried up the stairs.

----------------------------------------

When Nina and Fabian had gone down to the basement, the rest of Sibuna left Alfie's room. Mara was just coming down the stairs when she saw all of them together.

"Is this a social gathering between your Sibuna club? Shouldn't Fabian and Nina be with you guys? Where are they anyway?"

"Oh, they're just somewhere else," Alfie replied without thinking.

"Together?" Mara's voice got shaky.

"Yep."

Patricia hit Alfie as Mara ran back upstairs. The rest of Sibuna stared at him angrily. They knew that Mara was thinking that Fabian and Nina had gotten back together without telling her.

"What's wrong with you?" Patricia questioned. "Now you have to go fix this."

Alfie pouted when he was going up the stairs after Mara. When he made it to her room, he knocked on the door and called Mara's name. He could hear Mara sobbing in her room, and he felt bad. He kept knocking until Mara finally opened the door. She had tears in her eyes and tears on her cheeks. Alfie was a very energetic and kiddish guy, but he was also one of the most sympathetic people ever. He went into the room and closed the door. Mara always kept Kleenex in her room, so Alfie gave some tissue to Mara for her tears. They say on the bed.

"They're back together, aren't they?" Mara sobbed.

"No, no. They're not. They're just, um...just working things out. They're discussing how you and Fabian are still dating and very close, and how much he loves you. They probably lost feelings for eachother, right? Who knows, Nina could've gotten a boyfriend in America. Don't worry. Fabian loves you."

Mara took a deep breath. "Ok. It's just, I know how close they were before, and they seemed so perfect and happy together. I just wish our relationship was like that."

"It is, it is. You have NOTHING to worry about."

"I hope so."

Joy busted into the room because Alfie didn't lock the door. She was out of breath because she had ran down to the public library. She had a huge book in her hand. Joy rushed Alfie out and locked the door. She opened the book and showed Mara the page she bookmarked. Mara's eyes widened as she read.
