House of Anubis: Reunion

Protection

Before I begin this chapter, I'd like to give credit to @marytatum1999 who requested I bring Amber and Mick back, and also for some relationshippy-things. Not her words, but a summary kind of. So, yeah, shout out to her comment!

Also, credit to @bradlewiskavanagh for requesting to see Amber come back, so a big shout out to her as well!

And also, @last_queen_of_narnia, credit/shout out to her for both agreeing with @marytatum1999's suggestion, and requesting to see some Amfie and Mickara.

"So, Set has possessed Jerome's body, and Set is the god of chaos?"

"Yes," all of Sibuna replied in unison to Joy's understandings.

"And we need to stay away from him because he could potentially release his wrath of evil on us anytime?"

"Yes."

"So that Jerome, isn't the sexy, bold, incredible Jerome I thought he was?"

"You aren't in love with Set, are you?" Eddie asked.

"No, no. I loved my Jerome. I just didn't know Set was this Jerome."

"Well," Patricia spoke, "he is. And since Jerome happens to be the closest to you, it's obvious why you old be his first target."

"Because I wouldn't suspect him?"

"Right," Mara chimed-in. "Sibuna will do all it can to protect you. Right, guys?"

The others agreed. The doorbell rang, and Eddie stood up to take out his wallet and head to the door.

"Eh, who's that?" Fabian asked.

"Pizza guy. That's kind of how I distracted Jerome or Set, and got Joy out. I'll just refer to him as Jerome."

The others nodded as he left and opened the door. He paid the pizza guy, and took the box. And as he closed the door, he began to wonder where Jerome was.

"Jerome?" he called.

He checked the kitchen, but there was no sign of him. He went up the stairs and peeked into Joy's room. No sign of him there either.

"Jerome?" he called down the hallway.

He went back downstairs, and knocked on Jerome's door, and then peeked in. No sign of him there either. He went back into Fabian's room and closed the door behind him.

"Is Jerome missing?" Nina asked.

"Yeah. I can't find him anywhere." He dropped the pizza on Fabian's bed.

The door suddenly opened up, and everyone turned, expecting Jerome. But it was Willow and Alfie.

"I saw the pizza guy," Alfie smiled.

"Then wash your hands first, and then, we have something to tell you both," Nina told them.

They were informed of the controversy. By late night, Jerome had appeared again, right in his bedroom. Fabian, Eddie, and Alfie would make sure they didn't hear Jerome do anything, which meant sleeping with one-eye open. Fabian was a light-sleeper anyways, so he'd be their last hope if the others failed on their parts.

Joy and Willow were up in the night, discussing in Joy's room.

"Hey, I know Sibuna said they'd protect us, but we still have to protect ourselves, alright? Nubi, right?"

"Nubi," Willow repeated.

"And, if we are still Nubi, we have to do everything we can to solve these mysteries as well."

Willow held up the map. "Adventure?"

Joy smiled. "Let's go."

They snuck down the stairs and into the basement, gently closing the door behind them. When they were down there, Patricia was just coming out her room as well.

She tiptoed downstairs and into Eddie's room, closing the door as quietly as she can. She didn't know Eddie was awake, but as she silently approached him, he whispered-

"Planning to steal from me, Yacker?"

Patricia was a bit startled, but then she collected herself and sat on the side of Eddie's bed. Eddie sat up against his pillow.

"Nina told us all about your dream. Do you really think the Osirion never died?"

"Maybe lost a few powers, but still the same Osirion I'll always be."

"Well, not always."

Eddie laughed. "Yeah. I just, kind of like to think I might always be this immortal Osirion forever, like a superhero, you know? Even though these things get so creepy and dangerous, it still feels like it's a part of me that I just want there. I sound crazy, I know."

"Eddie, when it comes from your mouth, these things just start to sound normal," Patricia joked. She scooted up by Eddie, and propped her feet up as Eddie wrapped his arm around her. "Anyways, I know what you mean. It's sort of the same with me and Sibuna. I think I'm kind of glad Set has possessed Jerome's body."

"So evil," Eddie commented. "So, why did you come in here?"

Patricia took a deep breath. "Honestly, I couldn't sleep."

"Is someone being vulnerable?"

"Don't even begin to think that way, you twat. I couldn't sleep because I knew I'd need to protect you from Jerome, since your rooms are right by eachother's."

"Right."

Patricia sighed, and she turned her back towards Eddie as she laid down and fell asleep. Eddie laughed to himself as he also laid back down, falling asleep.

"According to this map, there should be a room here," Willow studied.

Joy went by her. It was the wall on the other side of the room from the secret passages, but they couldn't get through without Mara nearby or Nina's locket inserted.

"Willow, it's just a wall," Joy told her.

Willow grunted. She pressed her ear against the wall, knocking in different places."

"Will-"

The wall slowly slid from right to left, revealing a secret room. Willow smiled at Joy who looked awestruck.

They went in. The room was empty except for a podium that held a slip of paper on it. Joy carefully took it off and unfolded it, to read it, but it happened to be an entire page of hieroglyphics.

"I'm not the best at solving these," Joy moaned.

"Why don't we just find hieroglyphics online?" Willow asked. "Use them to translate these."

Willow tapped the paper.

"Genius strikes again."

Willow squealed. "This is going to be so fun."

Joy pulled Willow along, back up the basement stairs, and then up to the top floor. They'd begin solving the next day, and they split up into their individual rooms.
