House of Anubis: Reunion

Argument

Mick was left heartbroken and alone. For a moment he just stood there, questioning whether he should hate himself or Mara more. But he couldn't hate Mara because he loved her too much. He wiped his eyes and went into the kitchen, unsuccessfully trying to forget what happened.

Behind him came Jerome, whom he still didn't know was possessed.

"Someone's a downer today," Jerome observed.

"It's nothing, just-girl stuff," Mick choked.

"Mara, I presume?"

"Well, you dated Mara as well. How'd you stand seeing her everyday when you two broke up?"

"I realized that if she doesn't want me, so be it."

"What?"

"I don't need her to thrive. She was actually the last thing I needed," Jerome replied as he crept closer to Mick in a daunting way. "You see, if a girl doesn't want you, it means she doesn't want you. They deceive you. They throw you on the wrong path just so your heartbreak can hurt more. So buddy, stop with the sulking and crying and wishing she'll come back because she's already moved on. If you can't have her as a girlfriend anyway, why have her as anything at all, right? You'll only be in pain if you try to be her friend. Just take this as a life lesson. You always learn something, even when pain is your teacher."

Jerome left him alone with a little smile and an exit. Mick thought about what Jerome just told him, still confused by the fact that Jerome said that.

"Found out where the vault of gold is, yet?" Alfie asked, slipping into Fabian's room when Jerome and Mick were in the kitchen. He closed the door behind him. Fabian looked up from the book he was reading. "Are you seriously reading a book at this time? If that's not Egyptian mythology, put it down."

Fabian put the bookmark in it and placed it beside him. "Can't I at least read a chapter?"

"Where do you think a book like that will get us in this quest?" Alfie read the cover. "Cloud Atlas."

"It's a good book; I don't know why I can't just take one little break. Maybe you should try researching about it."

Alfie stopped and stood still, his eyes lighting up like fireworks. "Me? Do the research? Like the stuff you usually do? You want me to do the brainiac stuff?"

Fabian got out his laptop. "Go ahead."

Alfie took the laptop, setting it at the foot of the bed and sliding the rolling chair there to sit and work.

"I can't believe I'm actually responsible for this now? It feels kind of cool. Alfie Lewis is now the brains of Sibuna," he spoke proudly.

"Don't go too fast there. We'll consider you the brains when you're the only one left in Sibuna," Fabian joked.

Fabian smiled as he picked up his book to resume reading.

"Oh...hey!" Alfie caught on. He snorted and went to the research, leaving Fabian to his reading.

"Am I just going to hide here until the end of summer?" Joy asked.

"At least until we defeat Set in the mid-summer," Nina explained.

"After July 21st, you'll be free," Patricia claimed.

"It's not even July yet," Joy complained.

"Don't worry; it beats being trapped in a dusty old room underneath Anubis house, doesn't it?" Patricia pointed out.

Joy moaned and she leaned her head on Patricia's shoulder.

Mara didn't seem to be so interested in the movie, and when the girls got in the car afterwards, KT in the drivers' seat, Mara in the passenger's, and Amber in the back, KT didn't start the car until she got closure with Mara.

"The pact, Mara. You know it; you knew it when you were talking with him," KT stated.

"Well, I'm not kissing him right now, so don't worry about it," Mara sighed.

"Then stop thinking about him."

"I can't control how I feel KT!" Mara claimed in sudden outburst. "I'm only human. I fell for him, ok, and it's not the easiest thing to get up."

"But I'm helping you up-we're helping you up."

"In separate context, it sort of feels like you're holding me down."

What's that suppose to mean? Hey, why can't you take Amber for example? She's not said one thing about Alfie, nor has she even thought about him."

"Yeah, like Amber is going through something remotely similar to what I'm going through. She doesn't know real heartbreak. It was Alfie, for crying out loud."

Amber chimed-in, "Excuse me, but it hurt a lot, finding out about him and Willow. I cried myself to sleep. I locked myself in my room and cried the first instant I found out. I know real heartbreak, Mara. It hurts a lot, but for you to think it wasn't real-" Amber was replacing some of her sadness with anger, and before saying anything else, she got out the car, slamming the door.

"No! I didn't mean it that way, Amber!" Mara tried calling out.

"Nice going," KT remarked.

"I have to go talk to her." Mara got out the car.
