Jae had battled with her past for so long. She had constant nightmares and flashbacks to the days when she lived with her parents. The verbal and physical abuse was scarring. Watching her role models drink, smoke, and gamble their life away hurt. She had gone so long without the care from what should have been the two most important people in her life.

Her brother, Jihun, may have cared for her and she would be ever grateful for his existence, kindness, and love. But it wasn't the same.

There was a little phase Jae had when she was working on the Love Yourself: Tear album. She was under a lot of stress and her thoughts turned towards her past quite a bit during that time. The album was going to have a song with just the 7 boys. Jae was unaffected that they were leaving her out of the song. Her mind didn't even take it as her being left behind, rather she saw it as another approach to the group and their music.

While she was extremely stressed out with writing, producing, dancing, singing, and practicing, Jae's brain continuously took her back to her past. Induced by her constant and copious amount of pain, her nightmares increased and she would have periods of time when she would just sit there hopelessly as she cried, alone in her studio. After getting fed up of the constant reminders of her past, she decided it was time she faced it. And Jae fought it with what she knew best. Music.

Jae talked to Bang PD about adding a solo song to the album. A solo song that Jae would write, sing, compose, and produce. She told none of the members that she was preparing a whole solo song on such short notice. The members went about their business assuming that Jae was just spending extra time in her studio, finalizing the album.

It was the day of the Comeback Show and Jae was finally revealing the song. The album had been released, the comeback successful, but the boys had yet to find out that there was a hidden track on the album.

The group was in the dressing room, prepping to go on stage. Jae sat back, hair and makeup already perfected as she watched the boys get ready to perform their all boy song. She had been having trouble keeping the project under wraps and hidden from the boys but she wasn't about to let all her hard work go right now.

"Alright Jae, we're off. Be right back!" Hoseok yelled.

"Wish me luck babygirl." Jungkook whispered, smirking as Jae mouthed good luck as he walked away.

"See ya in a few princess." Jin said before following the other boys. They had finally all made it onto stage when Jae leaped into action along with her stylist.

"Quick, Jae get into your outfit and dress." her stylist yelled.

Jae grabbed the Nike Pro spandex and the strappy white tank top that had been laid out for her, putting both on after ridding herself of the jeans and shirt she had been wearing for the previous performance. Over the spandex, she put on a dress. It was a deep royal blue strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a floor length tulle skirt. The dress had a sparkly belt that was already attached and the skirt was sequined as if there were diamonds falling from the belt portion.

She stepped into the dress and turned around, wriggling it up her body. She watched the boys perform on the screen as her stylist zipped up the back.

"Ok Jae, here's the little string to pull when you're ready to take it off." The stylist showed Jae how it worked and then quickly led Jae to the side of the stage where she would enter to perform. Jae watched the boys finish their performance and exit from the opposite side, heading back to the dressing room. It was now Jae's turn.

The lights on stage went black and ARMY's screams quickly silenced as Jae spoke through her microphone, still hidden in the side entrance. She walked out slowly to center stage as she spoke.

"Guys. I've been battling some demons for awhile now. And I realized it's time to let go. And it's time for me," she paused, "to love myself. Here's to past memories." The lights turned bright and there Jae was, standing center stage in her beautiful dress, with a mic attached to her.

The music started and so did her voice as she sang the lyrics.

"Oh, I'm haunted by the ghost of you. Tryna keep from going under, but I can't get over you."

Her eyes were closed as she stood with her arms by her side, hands hidden in the folds of her dress and continued to sing.

"Memories, memories. Everything you said to me, said to me. Oh but now you're dead to me, dead to me. Now you're just a memory."

The music continued, building up to its peak.

"Ghost of you. Ghost of you. Ghost of you."

The music intensified and the lights started to flash, from bright white to a dark black. They flashed along to the beat of the music and Jae finally moved, reaching for the string that was tied to her zipper. Her hands grabbed it and she pulled it down, the dress now falling off of her body. She grabbed the fabric and tossed the heavy gown to the side as far as she could, revealing her black spandex, white tank top, and bare feet.

Just as the music built up to its peak and dropped, the lights went bright once again and Jae started to dance. She performed with all heart, leaping, twirling, and busting out some powerful moves on stage. She also included quite a few stunts in the performance as she danced with passion.

"All my life I've been haunted. Haunted by the ghost of you. And I think I'm going under. And I can't get over you. Memories. Memories. Everything you said to me, said to me. Oh but now you're dead to me, dead to me. Now you're just a memory, memory."

Jae continued the song, panting hard but pushing through it as she turned and flew through the air doing complex stunts that she had practiced for weeks on end. Fire went off and so did smoke as the stage lit up with Jae's performance.

Eventually the song came to an end, with Jae on her knees, looking out into the audience with bright eyes and a single tear rolling down her cheek.

"Memory. Now you're just a memory."
