Chapter 3: The Spiders

(The Next Day)

Y/N's POV

I've just gotten out of the shower and then I get dressed and have some breakfast.

Then I get ready for work and I leave my apartment and see Ben sitting by the stairs again.

Y/N: Mom and Greg fighting again?

Ben nods.

Then the door opens and Greg comes out.

Greg: Ben inside.

Ben just sits there.

Greg: Now!

Then Ben gets up and goes inside.

I then look at Greg and he stares at me for a minute.

Greg: If I see you talking to my son again, I will kill you.

Then Greg slams the door.

Y/N: Dick.

Then I head to Oscorp.

(Two Hours Later)

I'm now at my desk working as I have been for the last two hours.

My phone rings and I see that it's Cole.

Y/N: Hello.

Cole: Oh man! You will not believe what happened to me last night.

Y/N: You and the blonde?

Cole: Oh man. She is great. She's feisty. You have no idea man.

Y/N: Your right I don't. Hey uh Cole I'm working right now. Can I call you back later?

Cole: Wait...man. She had a friend. I told her about you and she says you'll be a good match for her and they want us to go out tonight.

Then I see Olivia come over to my desk.

Y/N: Uh man. Look I'll call you tonight.

Cole: Just think about it.

Y/N: I will.

Cole: Okay.

Y/N: I'm hanging up now.

Then I hang up my phone and Olivia gives me a look.

Y/N: Sorry.

Olivia: We don't take phone calls during work.

Y/N: I know. I'm so sorry. It's my friend Cole. He uh...you know what you don't care.

Olivia: Come with me Mr. L/N.

Y/N: Um alright.

Then I stand up and follow Olivia and then we walk into a lab that had big tanks full of spiders.

Y/N: Whoa. This is so cool.

Olivia: I knew you'd like it.

Y/N: I really do.

Olivia: Good because...I have a job for you.

Y/N: What kind of job?

Olivia: All these spiders are very rare. Each specific to its origin.

Y/N: Wow.

Olivia: All your going to do is look over them. Find out all the information you can.

Y/N: I shouldn't be happy that I get the jobs the higher ups don't want. But I am. Thank you. I won't let you down.

Olivia: I know you won't.

Then I see a tank different from the others.

I walk over to it.
