"Mon dieu. Zhat was a terror of a storm, oui?" Alphonse commented as he, Cade, and I sat by the railing. The storm had passed and the sky was clear once more now that the danger had passed.

I nodded. "Oui, that was the worst one I'd ever been in."

"So, did the scrimshaw work, mate?" Cade asked, and I nodded while looking down at the amulet I wore proudly.

"I'd say so. I didn't drown, and neither did Ko. That counts as lucky in my book."

"Oui! Thank goodness! We would 'ave missed you, Mathieu."

I smiled. "Thanks, guys."

"Wait a moment now," Cade said, looking at me with a criticizing stare. "Somethin's different about ya... Ah, that's it! Your glasses are gone!"

I gaped and patted my face. "Oh my gosh, you're right! They must have fallen off in the water when that wave pushed us under. Damn... But that explains it, I guess."

"Explains what?" Alphonse asked.

"Why I ran into a doorway after putting Ko away in the bedroom. And why my face felt so... naked." I stood up. "But anyway, I'm gonna miss you guys."

"Where ya going?" Cade asked, his expression changing to one of confusion.

"Well, I'm going back to where I came from as soon as I get Melina back from the pirates," I said remindingly.

"And where'd ya come from, anyway?"

"Oh! Uh... Somewhere very far from here."

"Like zhe new world?" Alphonse asked.

I nodded again. "Yes, that's where I'm from. Both of us are, I think."

"You think?" Cade repeated. "You don't know, mate?"

"W-Well, Melina doesn't know where she came from," I explained. "We've been trying to find out ever since we met each other last year."

"You're 'er lover, yet you both 'ave only known one anozher for a year?" Alphonse asked, slightly surprised. "Zhat was quick."

I shrugged. "Not really. I had a crush on her for a long time, and I confessed last February to her. We've only been together for a little while."

"Ah, I see~" Alphonse said, relaxing.

'He can remind me of France a little at times...' I thought to myself with a small smirk.

Melina's POV~

"Oi, get up!" an angry Captain's voice shouted to me in Russian as I was shaken awake.

"Hm?" I mumbled, sitting up and stretching my stiff arms. The chibis awoke slowly as well, rubbing their eyes as they sat up. "Wha's goin'on?" I asked with a yawn.

"We're going to be docking in a while, get uptop and be ready," Rayn ordered coldly before leaving out the door and stomping up the steps; I knew this because I could easily hear her boots smack the wooden floor.

"Welp, looks like we're there," I stated, and then felt my stomach drop as I started to panic. "Oh my god is this Rayn's island is the voyage over am I gonna die oh no!"

"Sh-She-a won't kill you, you are a country as-a well, si?" Italy reasoned. "She-a captures countries, she-a doesn't kill them."

"O-Oui, she won't kill you, Melina," Canada said, hugging my side comfortingly.

"Yes, and we'll protect you!" America declared. I planted a chaste kiss on top of their heads before standing and going up to the deck with all three countries following.
