"Melina, come on, can you hear me?" I called to her, brushing a lock of hair out of her face. I noticed her hair had grown in length considerably since I last saw her.

I got no reply out of her, not even a twitch. I felt under her jaw and found a weak pulse, and her soft breath hitting my cheek told a hopeful story at the least. My face set with determination as I leaned over to whisper in her ear. "I'll get help from Kadi, and then we'll get you all out of here. Stay strong, don't die no matter what." Then I kissed her chastely before standing and going down the ladder to the ground floor.

"Alright, are you done?" Rayn asked me in French. I nodded.

"Yes, and I have to ask what you're planning to do with her as soon as she recovers."

"If she lives, I keep her a prisoner on the island, just like all the other countries who I capture," she said with a triumphant smirk. "Tell me, are you a country, too? Your hair indicates so."

I shook my head. "No, it's just a case of mistaken identity. I am just a sailor who fell in love with her."

"Ah, is that all. Well then, begone. You aren't welcome here." I nodded and left, casting the group of young countries a quick glance over my shoulder before they were out of sight. My glance told them I would be back for them, if they got the message.

"Kadi!" I shouted as I ran back to the docks, out of breath from all the exercise. She looked up and waved, as did I. When I reached her, she put a hand on my shoulder.

"What did you find out?"

"She's in the hospital because of a fatal snakebite, and she might not make it. I know she will, though. The real problem is Rayn; she won't let Melina or the other countries go. She says she'll keep them on her island for some reason she didn't mention. And once Melina is better, well, I have no idea where exactly they'll go."

Kadi nodded. "Right, we need to rescue them, and tonight. Where is Melina right now?"

"She's in the hospital, which is built a lot like a barn. She's in an upper loft, fighting the poison."

"Ah, tough luck. Okay, well, walk with me, young Padawan."

I just shot her a look and rolled my eyes before following after her as she formed her plan.

That night~

We watched from between the trees as a group of men entered the hospital with a stretcher, emerging a moment later bearing a person on it. No, four persons, actually; three of them were small and child-sized. When one of the buff-looking men tried to get them to get off the stretcher, they shouted at them to let them stay and "Leave Melina alone!" Two more people followed the stretcher, one cloaked in a dark blue cowl while the other let his pure-white hair shine in the moonlight.

"Prussia?" I whispered to myself, surprised to no end. "Since when was he here?"

"Shh!" Kadi said warningly, a finger to her lips. "We're only invisible, they can still hear us!"

"Kadi, you're being a lot louder than me," I pointed out with a deadpanned expression. She was about to retort, but then thought better of it and piped down.

'Okay, looks like they're moving her to another location, maybe where they're going to be held for the next who-knows-how-long' Kadi communicated through telepathy to me. I nodded in agreement.

'Right, so we need to just intercept them while they're not suspecting it' I replied, just letting her read my thoughts since I couldn't actually broadcast them to her.
