Calum

I sat on the throne as I watched the various lords and ladies dance around the ballroom. I let out a sigh.

"At least try to look like you're enjoying yourself." My father spoke.

"You raised me to be honest, and I'd be lying if I pretended to have fun." I sighed. Suddenly, a prince came up to the throne.

"May I have this dance, your highness?" he asked.

"Sorry, I'm awfully-."

"Yes, she would be delighted." My father cut in. I glared at him as I stood up and took the prince's hand. We started to dance.

"So, as you can probably tell, I'm the best it gets, so the search for your new husband is over." The cocky prince chuckled. I scoffed at him.

"Well you're not arguing with it, are you, so-."

"Excuse me, may I steal the princess for a dance?" I turned my head around to see a gorgeous prince standing behind us. His dark brown hair was shaped perfectly, with a blond streak sitting at the front as it flopped over his hazel brown eyes.

"Of course." I smiled as I moved out of the cocky prince's grip. He scoffed before storming off. The unnamed prince and I started to dance.

"Thank you." I spoke as his hand moved to my waist.

"Any time, princess." He chuckled.

"So, does my savour have a name?" I asked.

"Prince Calum of Australia." He spoke. I sighed heavily.

"Am I boring you, princess?" he smiled.

"I apologise, I just don't want this. All of this is to find the least arrogant prince to marry me off to." I huffed.

"I know the feeling." He sighed.

"How could you possibly know the feeling?" I asked.

"I'm the youngest member of my family. My sister is married, my cousins are married, so my parents are very keen to get me married." He explained. I nodded.

"So, have you thought about who is currently the top contender for your hand in marriage?" he asked.

"To be honest, you're the top contender. You're the only prince who hasn't started by saying that you're the best I can get." I spoke in a mocking tone, making him chuckle.

"So, I'm going to be your new husband?" he asked. I smiled.

"I'd say that there's a good chance." I responded. He chuckled as the song ended.

"Until next time, princess Y/N." he smiled as he leant his head down and kissed my hand.

"Until next time, prince Calum." I chuckled. He returned it before walking away. I bit my lip as I walked back to my father.

"I found my new husband."

Luke

I waited in the palace gardens for Luke's arrival. I looked at my pocket watch, sighing as he was already ten minutes late. Suddenly, a pair of hands covered my eyes and a pair of lips attached themselves to my neck.

"Guess who." Luke whispered in my ear as he kissed my neck. I turned around and connected our lips as his hands moved to my waist and pulled me closer.

"I have some really bad news." I spoke as I broke the kiss.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"My parents have arranged for me to marry prince Ashton of Australia. I don't get a say in the matter." I sighed. Luke's confused look turned to angry quickly.

"What about us?!" he fumed.

"I love you, you know that, but they're not going to let me marry the son of the enemy kingdom." I spoke, gently placing my hand on his cheek to calm him down. He leant into it immediately.

"What about us?" he asked, calmer this time. I sighed at him.

"I don't know, Luke. The wedding is in a week, and the prince and his family are coming here tomorrow. I love you, but I'm afraid that there is very little that can be done." I spoke quietly.

"I guess that it's the perfect time to put my plan into motion." He said.

"What plan?" I asked.

"That's what I came here to tell you about. I was planning on running away tonight, I was going to ask you to come with me." He admitted. My eyes widened.

"And just abandon our duties?" I scoffed.

"Well, you've been saying how much you hate this life since we were children. This is the perfect chance to get out. We can go to another town, where we're not known, and start a new life together. Raise a family together." He spoke softly. I had to admit, I loved the sound of Luke's clearly well thought out plan. After a moment, I sighed.

"Okay. Let's go." I spoke. Luke's eyes immediately lit up as he kissed me. Once he broke the kiss, he grabbed my hands.

"Run." He smiled.

Michael

I rode through the forest on horseback, my hair flowing in the wind. I got to a clearing and my horse slowed down immediately, allowing me to carefully climb down. Suddenly, twigs started to snap around me. I turned my head quickly, trying to determine what it was. A man stepped out into the clearing. I recognised him immediately.

"Prince Michael." I smiled.

"Shouldn't you be out here with a guard, princess Y/N?" he smirked at me.

"They can't be out here if they don't know that I'm out here." I responded. His smirk widened quickly.

"Being a little rebellious for a princess, aren't you?" he asked. I shrugged.

"Yeah, well, I'm not your normal princess." I spoke.

"True, true." He muttered as he went to stroke my horse.

"Careful. She doesn't like you touching her." I chuckled.

"That's what you said, but that went out of the window last night, didn't it?" he smirked. I gasped and laughed as I lightly slapped his arm.

"Same time again tonight?" he asked. I smiled as I got back on my horse.

"I'll meet you there." I spoke.

"Until tonight, princess." He smirked as I rode off.

Ashton

"Do I get any say in this at all?!" I yelled at my father.

"Y/N, we told you about this weeks ago." He replied, making me scoff.

"Really? Because the first thing I heard about it was when the maid came and told me to meet Prince Ashton, my new husband." I spat, staring at the prince. I had to admit, he was good looking but that was besides the point.

"We will have no further debate in this!" my father yelled. I scoffed before storming out of the hall and head back to my room quickly. Moments later, there was a knock on my door. I turned around to see Ashton stood there.

"What do you want?" I muttered. He slowly made his way into my room.

"I don't think we got off on the right foot-."

"He doesn't know, does he? He doesn't know that we were enemies." I spat. Ashton shook his head.

"There's a reason why we're engaged." He spoke.

"And why is that-." I was cut off by his lips on mine. I immediately kissed back as his hands moved to my waist.

"We're engaged because I asked to be." He whispered against my lips.

"Why?" I asked.

"I've loved you since we met. I hated it when we became enemies, and this was the only way to get you back." He responded. I smiled at his confession.

"You still against getting married to me?" He asked. I sighed.

"Not as much." I chuckled, kissing him again and making him smile.
