Author's Note: Hello, lovelies! Life has been a bit rough lately, so I've been imagining little scenes with Levi in order to help myself feel better. I might post more in the future, if I get around to editing them. For now, I hope you enjoy this one!

You quickly gathered your things and hastened to the front door. You weren't exactly running late – yet, but you did need to leave right away. Although, you supposed you could congratulate yourself for basically being ready on time, for once – especially since it was still so early in the morning that the sky was just beginning to lighten.

Levi was waiting for you at the door, wearing a simple black t-shirt and jeans as he leaned casually against the frame. He watched you quietly, his mercury eyes following your movements. To most people, he would have appeared completely stoic, but you knew him well enough to recognize the softness in his gaze.

"Sorry," you uttered as you knelt down to tie your shoes.

"Don't be," he murmured. "I'm just here for you."

Although you were still in a rush, something inside you eased at his gentle words – and at the fact that he was with you now. You'd told him he didn't have to come today, but he'd still gotten up early, still decided to be your emotional support. While you truly did think you could've survived on your own, his calm, steady presence was certainly welcome.

"Can I drive?" you asked, and Levi handed you the keys.

You'd hoped the act of driving would take your mind off why you needed to make this trip in the first place. However, it seemed the reverse was true, and you weren't exactly as focused as you should've been while you maneuvered through the streets. Thankfully, there weren't many other cars around at this early hour.

When you arrived, Levi went with you into the waiting room. He sat quietly next to you until your name was called, and then he asked, "Do you want me to come with you?"

You shook your head, giving him a soft, grateful smile. "I'll be fine. See you in a bit."

------------------------------------------

When you returned to the waiting room, before you could even say anything, Levi surprised you by standing up and giving you a quick hug. To an outside observer, it would have looked like a normal greeting – nothing to bat an eye at. However, Levi typically didn't show physical affection in public, even with something as innocent as this.

A second later, while his arms were still around you, you realized the reason behind his actions. He had no idea what had happened during the time you'd been gone, and because there were other people in the waiting room, he knew this wasn't the place to talk about it. But just in case you needed it, he wanted to give you something that would immediately let you feel his support while also not drawing unwanted attention, until you two were able to enter the privacy of your car.

Your heart warmed at the gesture, and your lips curled into a soft smile.

Then the moment passed, and Levi withdrew his arms, only to take your hand instead. "Ready to go?" he murmured.

You nodded, and the two of you proceeded to the car. Again, you chose to drive – again, wanting something else to focus on. You secured your seatbelt and then backed out of the parking space, with Levi's gentle, mercury eyes watching you the entire time.

"So...how was it?" he asked carefully.

"They said they didn't find anything," you informed him. "So that's good, I guess."

"Good," he echoed, leaving the space for you to say more, if you wanted.

You paused long enough to pull out of the parking garage before muttering quietly, "It was...unpleasant."

Levi's brow furrowed with concern. "I'm sorry."

You lapsed into silence, and after a minute passed without you speaking again, he asked gently, "Is there anything you need? Or want?"

You rolled your bottom lip between your teeth. "Well...I did wish I had some hot chocolate while I was in there...because the room was cold..." you admitted meekly. "But now that I'm outside, and it's warmer, I'm not sure..."

"If you want some, we can stop at Starbucks on the way home," he offered, leaving it open for you to have the final say.

You thought for a moment. "Yeah...that sounds good," you agreed quietly. "And...when we get home...could we maybe...get a soft blanket and cuddle?"

"Of course. Whatever you want," he assured you, his voice calm and steady, just like always.

Even the anticipation of snuggling up next to Levi with a comfortable blanket and a cup of hot chocolate eased the discomfort inside you. You loosed a breath, then glanced at him just long enough to give a small, grateful smile. "Thanks, Levi," you murmured.

He nodded once in reply, silently conveying that he was here for you, and that he always would be.

While you drove the rest of the way, Levi used his phone to order and pay for your hot chocolate. After picking it up, the two of you went straight home, where you did exactly as Levi had promised. He sat you down on the couch with your drink in hand, then grabbed the biggest, softest blanket you owned and wrapped it around you like a cocoon. A moment later, he was at your side, gently folding you into his strong frame.

You sighed as you leaned against his chest, wanting to just sink into him. Between the warmth of your drink, and the coziness of the blanket, and Levi's tender support, you were so comfortable that every thought faded from your mind – even the anxious and unpleasant ones. Instead, you were filled with a simple yet wonderful feeling of contentment as you sat in calm, companionable silence with the man who loved you most in the entire world.
