Author's Note: Hello, lovelies! There's a brief mention of a spoiler for the end of the manga in this one, just so you're aware. The internet has probably already spoiled it for you.

When you'd graduated college, you'd gotten what everyone seemed to want. An entry-level job at a big corporation that paid well and had good benefits. Your own apartment in a new city. A promising start, with nowhere to go but up.

Except, not quite.

Now, a few years later, your Happily Ever After felt more like a dead end. You were still working that same corporate job – which you'd discovered you didn't particularly like, but it paid the bills, so you stuck with it. You still lived alone, and without the college-provided opportunities to meet like-minded people who shared at least some of your interests, you hadn't made many new friends. Thus, you were unsatisfied and lonely, and you weren't sure how to fix that. If it could be fixed.

So here you were, once again alone on this sunny Saturday, making lunch on your kitchen island. Your apartment felt so quiet, so still, as if no one lived in it at all – and inevitably, your thoughts drifted to how lonely you felt. Maybe turning on some anime would distract you...

But before you could take one step, two men appeared in a heap on your living room floor. "Appeared" was the only way to describe it, because they didn't come from anywhere – unless they had some kind of invisibility or super speed. There were just there, when a second ago, they weren't.

You stood frozen while the two men untangled themselves and stood up, groaning as if they'd taken a fall. In the back of your mind, you realized they both looked strangely familiar, but you couldn't think of where you'd seen them before. At the very least, you were confident you'd never actually met them.

You quickly grabbed the knife you'd been using to cut your food and brandished it in front of you, staring fearfully at the men from across the kitchen island. "S-stay back," you sputtered, not sounding nearly as threatening as you'd hoped. "Who are you? And how did you get in here?"

The two didn't even seem to hear you, instead staring at each other, expressions of pure shock on their faces.

"Erwin?" one of them gasped. He was a lot shorter than the average man, with black hair and pale skin. Despite his petite frame, you could see the outline of lean, corded muscles underneath the fabric of his shirt. "Is...is that really you?"

The other man was much taller, with blond hair and bright blue eyes. His muscles were bulkier, though not so much as to be unappealing. In fact, both men were quite attractive in their distinctly opposite ways.

The blond one – Erwin – got over his shock and smiled softly. "It is," he murmured. "Though I'm not sure how or why, it seems something has brought us together again, Levi."

Wait.

Levi?

Erwin?

No...no, it couldn't be. They were anime characters. They weren't...they couldn't be real...

"But you...and your arm," Levi rasped, something like pain choking his voice while his wide eyes scanned Erwin's body. He looked down at his own hands, staring at them as if they were a marvel, before hastily holding one palm in front of his eye, then pressing his fingertips all over his face. "My injuries from the explosion are gone too. And my leg...shit, it's like..."

"Yes, it seems all our major injuries were reversed when we were brought here," Erwin mused, his gaze drifting around the room, studying it. "But where is here, exactly? It looks different from any – oh, hello."
