It had already been a month since the older kids and Miss Laputa have started their study group session. They work on three different subjects everyday with their teacher being the host.

Most of them worked on small groups, depending on what subject do they find difficult to understand. When they struggle to process everything, they ask for help from one another. Simon and Y/N, however, have their own little workspace.

Y/N knew about a few topics that Simon was flunking in and same goes for him. Thus, they just sit down near each other and work things out themselves; Simon would tutor her and vice versa.

Though, because of this, girls and boys their age (as well as the ones that are a year younger) were starting to get suspicious.

The morning went by with Y/N being interrogated by squealing girls. Asking her about how close her and Simon were getting.

"Is he courting you?"

"Will you reject him?"

"Have you two held hands?"

All of them asked the same questions repetitively. They were getting tedious to answer for Y/N. But one question had perked up her attention:

"Is he your soulmate?"

Y/N didn't know how to answer that. Is he? She asked herself. Though, as much as she wanted to delve deeper into her thoughts, Y/N didn't want to leave her classmate hanging. So she shrugged, "I don't know." She told her truthfully, "Perhaps he is, perhaps he isn't. We never know."

During their lunch break, Tora, Lily, and Vivian stared at Y/N — who was subconsciously nibbling her apple whilst staring into space — concerned. The girl had been stuck in a deep trance ever since their classes had started. She even asked what part of the story they were in when she was called to read a chapter aloud because of her being in a deep query.

Until now, she was stuck thinking about the question that branded her mind. Is he my soulmate? She kept asking herself whilst recalling every moment she'd been with him as well as the times she'd observed him unintentionally.

Of course, when she used to be so desperate in finding her soulmate, she considered looking for synchronocities. She never noticed such things until now where she had recollect every event she's been with Simon.

She could distinctly remember that the colors of their outfits match most of the time; or when she told her sister, Vivian that she would like to spend their day on the beach on Sunday. So when they did, they found Simon flying his kite there as well; another one was when she tried writing her soulmate letters, hoping that they would be sent to their dreams at least.

And in every letter, she would always end them with a particular message:

I will wait for you. Even if it is not at your interest to find me, your soulmate.

And she was fully aware that Simon doesn't care about said soulmates.

Then again, they could only be coincidences. Y/N would never be too sure. The last time she had high hopes for something, it only underwhelmed her. Although, deep down, she couldn't help but want him to be the one that owns the other half of her soul.

"Y/N!"

Her deep quandary was shaken off of her as Tora shook her by the shoulder. "Lunch break is over. It's time get back to our seats." She remarked. Y/N hadn't noticed their spot has been cleaned up already. I must have been thinking about it too much, She thought.

"Are you sure you're all right?" Lily questioned. The way Y/N acted throughout the day was concerning. She had never been this preoccupied unless she was really struck by a frowned-upon issue.
