"Kota, please don't touch that," Eli said as she pulled him away from the aisles.

They'd picked up some groceries from the local market and the grocery store, now they stood in a smaller convenience store where they stocked up on things like laundry detergent and bleach.

The house was a mess when they'd gotten back from the hospital, rightfully so since it had been so long since they'd been home, and Eli didn't exactly clean up before retrieving Eri. Not to mention they had to throw some food out since it'd gone bad and made the fridge kind of smell.

"I'm just saying, I'm a firm believer that we could survive in Gotham," Izuku nodded to himself as he looked intently at the bottles of All Purpose cleaner before deciding on the lavender scent and the lemon scent and tossing them in the basket.

"That's cute and all honey, but I'd be in prison because I'm taking care of Joker as soon as possible," Eli retorted as she looked through the types of scent boosters they had.

"What do you think honey, beads, or liquid?" Eli asked Kota, already knowing what he'd pick.

"Beads!" he said as he grabbed at the one he liked. He really liked the green ones, but the only time he could use them was when he was helping with the laundry because Eli couldn't help but think that one day the kid would fuck around and eat one.

"Nee-chan is right, Batman is really cool, but I don't think I could release Joker back into the wild like that," Shoto spoke up, behind them after returning with a massive pack of toilet paper and paper towels.

Izuku laughed at that and took some of the things for him.

"I could, it's like having your own supervillain," Izuku said with a goofy grin making Eli look at him a bit strangely before she remembered that he'd watched the Lego Batman movie last night.

"It's a supervillain Izu, not a pet," Eli told him as she picked up some tissue boxes and a new box of trash bags.

'Speaking of pets...' Izuku pondered.

He'd been trying to figure out when would be the right to ask for a dog if such a time even existed.

The feather in Eli's pocket moved a bit making her pause. She'd left Hitoshi, Katsuki, and Himiko at home under the eyes of Keigo and Touya. Whether that was a good idea was still up in the air.

Eli did trust them, honestly, but that didn't change how nervous she felt about anyone other than herself watching after her children. Even with the occasional help from Shouta and Nezu throughout the years, it had always been just her so she'd become used to making all decisions when it came to their wellbeing.

Eli remembered how she felt when she'd landed on that little island to take them back from those wretched things that dared to call themselves her parents, it was that feeling she got when she was alone.

Those quiet moments when she was simply cleaning and realized that all the children were asleep and that she was alone. Those moments when she woke up alone and sat there for only 2 seconds before getting up to check on them.

'Am I paranoid?' Eli thought.

For so long, she wanted to make sure she never infringed on her siblings with her own feelings. They wanted to be heroes, so she'd let them, but the very thought of them getting hurt sent Eli so deep within her own mind it made her want to scream.
