I lifted myself up, the pain ringing through my ears, but I pushed it aside. I was going to stand up no matter how many bones were broken.

“Nicklaus,” I said and Klaus spun around to face me as I heaved on the dirt-covered wall. I had caught Stefan’s attention once again. “Do tell me you don’t believe in the judgment of family names due to one person. If I judged the Michelson’s on just your reputation, I dare say isolation would confine you itself.”

“Speaking in riddles girl?” He raised his eyebrows and came towards me, smiling. “Maybe you should go first.”

“Go first, go last. Isn’t all the same in the end?” I smiled, bringing a bit of Katherine’s smile in, even if it would do me no good.

“You’re being difficult, and difficulty will be your end.” Klaus turned dark.

“Oh but don’t you know that difficulty is only the beginning?,” I whispered.

“You speak with words, but your weak. You are asking for death,” This time it wasn’t Klaus who spoke, it was Stefan.

“Death will become us Stefan. All of use. No immortality could kill that.” This time it wasn’t Stefan, Klaus or Katherine….it was Elijah.
